I commend him for marrying a 14 year old he raped.

He did marry her a year later. The were married for 3 years and then divorced. Two years later, if I calculated correctly, she committed suicide.
Sad story. Probably shouldn't be held against the guy, especially since he tried to do the right thing, and they didn't abort, and he raised their son.
But this is politics. Find the best candidate with the best policies, and then look at who can win.

Yea, a real TEAM PLAYER. Just kidding - you’ll get blasted here, as people here don’t realize that we are NOT the majority of Republican voters. Most of us may understand that what he did 40 years ago neither affects us, nor our kids (other than the idiots who followed Lin Wood in Georgia, but that’s another discussion), but most here do not realize that 20% or so of Republican voters simply WILL NOT vote for a Republican who doesn’t meet their ‘moral’ standards, regardless of whether it was 40 years ago. Roy Moore, and the country, learned this the hard way.
