It seems like a crazy urban legend: In China, drivers who have injured pedestrians will sometimes then try to kill them. And yet not only is it true, but it’s also fairly common; security cameras have regularly captured drivers driving back and forth on top of victims to make sure that they are dead. The Chinese language even has an adage for the phenomenon: “It is better to hit to kill than to hit and injure.”
In contrast in our country, BLM regularly blocks roads and in most situations, the drivers are the ones that took the hit.
When massive demonstrations against racial injustice erupted across the nation last summer, protesters used an increasingly common tactic to draw attention to their cause: swarming out onto major roads to temporarily paralyze traffic.
This method sometimes resulted in searing images of drivers plowing through crowds, causing serious injuries and in some cases, deaths.
Now, Republican politicians across the country are moving to stop the road-blocking maneuver, proposing increased penalties for demonstrators who run onto highways and legal immunity for drivers who hit them. The bills are among dozens introduced in Legislatures aimed at cracking down on demonstrations.
Drivers will have more freedom to act when they get attacked and a video that was sent to us this morning shows that sometimes the drivers will have to react in order to save their lie.
The video was allegedly filmed in Ohio and it shows a driver in a red car who is attacked by three people. One is armed with a knife and the other with a hammer. The driver hits the gas in reverse striking all three with the knive and the hammer falling from their hands.

If the driver didn't react in time he would probably be dead and in this case he took justice into his own hands.
I’m not at all sorry for what happened to the perps, but when the driver put the car into reverse and went back to hit them after she was safe from their threats the driver committed a crime. The driver will likely be prosecuted.
Its difficult to see the identity of the driver, but there was a figure in the back seat, which likely means 3 or more people in the car.

And that’s why he could be in a bit of trouble if the local DA wants it.
The driver could then claim he was in fear for his life. And he panicked, and hit the wrong pedal. That would probably fly. But in the meantime that DA could make his life miserable.
There is not, never has been, nor ever will be any cause or circumstance that should allow traffic to be blocked outside of rescuing a person from an actual accident.
No protest, no government motorcade, no issue, no person is more important than making sure the roads roll and the trains run on time.
If he got caught between those two vehicles with the force of that collision, he’s in a world of hurt. Likely crushed bones, etc.
One doesn't hit a pedal to go into reverse. One has to make a conscious effort to switch from forward to reverse. That was an attack.
Not with that steering, he can’t claim that.
While all that is likely true, since he could have just fled the scene, more stuff like that would end a lot of this swarming a car to attack the driver crap.

In other words, the driver is suppose to know, seated in his car and under attack, when three armed people are coming in for the kill and when or if they decide not to kill him.
I would defend him but I would not want you on any jury.
And that’s the problem.... They keep rewarding 3 criminals that were attacking with no charges, and punishing people that were under attack.
Agreed, but I'm with those on this thread who believe this was a ghetto dispute not a BLM event. For one thing, the driver appears to be black. For another, it appears to have occurred in a parking lot rather than a street.
I thought for sure that dude on the right side was dead.

I’m not sure how to handle the demonstrator problem, and I’m not sure this was a demonstrator problem. It might have been a private dispute. Nevertheless, I think there should be overwhelming force to free roadways of demonstrators and no group ever permitted to block roadways. As to situations where the police can’t or won’t fix it, I think it should be permissible for cars to proceed slowly (say 5 mph) through the demonstrators unless the demonstrators attack the car and then permit the car to speed out of the situation. Lately I have noticed some demonstrators are using their own cars to block and straddle lanes to force traffic to stop. Those cars should be confiscated and/or destroyed to unblock the traffic.
I agree. The circumstances indicate a personal dispute. This was in a parking lot, not a highway, etc.
Perhaps I missed where the car was unable to enter the roadway and leave? Violence is permissible where no other option is available but I saw nothing that stopped the car from simply driving away.

I have read about that. In China, a driver evidently would have to pay more money to an injured pedestrian than he would to the family of a dead pedestrian.

Also no one will stop to help lest they become legally and fully responsible for the injuries. So if you hit some one, kill them or if you see an injured person, keep going.
