The CDC has finally bowed to reality, acknowledging that there is no reason for vaccinated people to wear masks indoors, let alone outdoors. Call me cynical, but my guess is the polling has gone South on mask mandates. People have had enough. Next thing you know, Joe Biden will take off his mask to celebrate his administration’s great victory over the coronavirus. Must have been those vaccines Biden was so instrumental in developing.
As Scott reported this morning, Minnesota’s proto-fascist governor, Tim Walz, has revoked his state’s mask mandate. His declared state of emergency remains in place, although no one can explain wherein the emergency lies. He just likes power.
Similarly, in South Carolina, where I am vacationing at the moment, the governor issued an executive order prohibiting county or local governments in the state from enforcing covid-related local mask mandates.
This leaves stores, bars, restaurants and other facilities in the position of deciding whether to stop requiring patrons to wear masks. I assume most of them will, soon. Today I had the happy experience of walking into a restaurant in Charleston and seeing that the people working there were not masked, nor were any of the customers. And one of my daughters reports having lunch today in a mask-free restaurant in Minnesota.....

As of yesterday, Walmart dropped its mask requirement for vaccinated customers. Vaccinated employees can stop wearing their masks while working on May 18.

So then, the implication is that good liberals are in favor of wearing masks, but evil racist sexist etc. conservatives oppose wearing masks? And this indicates liberal superiority how exactly????
But this was a county where only 35% of the population under 65 is “fully” vaccinated.
I doubt that Walmart greeters will be told to ask maskless customers for CDC vaccination cards.

It’s been my experience, at least here in Los Angeles, the people most paralyzed by fear of the ‘Rona have tended to be younger. Makes no sense to me, but not much last year did.

The Karens in their late 30’s to 40’s were the worse re wearing masks and demanding the rest of us wear masks.
Then the older patients 65+.
Mainly females in both age brackets.
that is my observation as well, orange county is as bad as LA. went to the sams club in fullerton, a older couple were behind me and were told to put the mask on, but walmart said today masks were not required?????
I have a dollar that says Mr Hogg cannot actually define what a conservative is.
I think the jobs numbers last week really freaked out the Democrats. They knew they had to do something popular or risked tanking the midterms already.

Damn. Cuomo won’t even say what he’s going to do. Even Michigan has dropped the mandate. I am moving to Texas in a few months. I can’t take it here anymore
