It’s been 12 years since I retired, but this sounds like a normal Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) that is in most theater plans.
Biden seems to be taking our military members into account. He doesn’t want them to be bystander casualties when the thousands of large missiles are launched from Lebanon at Israel.
The Iranians know that an all out missile attack, which they have planned for and deployed since before the last few Mideast wars, is an all or nothing thing. The Iranian fanatics either gave Biden a heads up, or this simply is part of the Biden doctrine, of abandoning allies to their fate without US support.
Watch the Democrats engage in a fevered propaganda campaign against Israel, and perhaps even canceling defense treaties we already have in place. Forget the “Abraham” peace accords altogether. Peace is no longer an option.

Currently the only active foreign military installation on Israeli soil is the American AN/TPY-2 early missile warning radar station on Mt. Keren also known as the Dimona Radar Facility unless you count the guards at the embassy. It is a site and is about the size of half a football field. The site is owned and operated by the US military, and provide only secondhand intelligence to Israel.
There is no major manning in Israel to pull. This is political sham. All we do is store equipment in Israel.

Biden’s admin opened the door for billions impounded to be released back to Iran. And the fruits of that misjudgement are now flying over Israel, killing people. Rockets aren’t cheap - the money came from somewhere and lots of it.
However, 300K dual American-Israeli citizens are in Israel. And they will fight for Israel. Let Biden withdraw the unnecessary and political fluff and allow Israel to handle this Hamas business definitively.
