I was not aware the local commander was acting over and above official DOD requirements.

Maybe I did not read 100% the article.

The troops under the particular commander do have options to appeal, even while their leaves are restricted meanwhile. They can use the current DOD guidance as evidence for their appeal.

I can see the commander being admonished and forced to withdraw his ruling on vaccines.

Mea cupla maximus for my ignorance of this specific incidence on the military and the vaccines.

What poses the greatest threat to readiness? I don’t know; but the pentagon should make that determination. At that point, everyone does what is determined to be less of a threat...And not less of a threat to the individual, but to readiness.

"It’s Fake News.

'McGee said he and his staff are considering a range of options, including limited range of travel and increased reporting requirements for soldiers; however, no final decisions have been made as to restrictions.

Thanks. That figures--just more fake news from Gateway Pundit.

All of the real combat soldiers ready for mobilization received vaccines that were more “experimental” than the COVID vaccines now in people for 14 months.

These mRNA "vaccines" are the first of their kind (to be issued to the general public). So I think we're dealing with apples to oranges here. If these vaccines were of the conventional type, essentially inactive virus, there would most likely be far less resistance.

💉LOL! Ours, as far as we knew, they were all approved and had been in use for some time. But, as 18-20 yr olds, duh! 😂✌

Don’t know much about military law. But I do know science - and science indicates these young healthy people are at close to zero percent chance of falling due to covid. I can’t imagine forcing an unapproved vaccine on our young military.

Back in the day, when America was still America, and the Army was still the Army, any general who had a bunch of un-deployable troops for such a bullshit reason...his fault, her fault, somebody else’s fault, my fault, your fault, their fault or whatever would no longer be in command.

It helps to understand that the only thing that matters to an officer's career is a good evaluation writeup, and 95% of a good evaluation writeup is based on what the officer's area of responsibility looks like to that officer's commander on a series of powerpoint slides and spreadsheets. Every dumbass policy decision, collective punishment, and parroted rumor or threat comes down the private line boils down to filling in green boxes on spreadsheets and keeping the red boxes from bubbling up to higher.

I'm sure the CG sits in a weekly meeting with his commanding officer and there's a slide on the deck that has vaccination numbers for various bases. He wants his numbers to look more green because he knows his evaluation and follow on assignment depends upon it. Now at the weekly meeting that he runs, the lower level units have a slide that feeds that other meeting's slide. Out of the blue, he asks why the numbers aren't moving as fast as he wants them to and announces "our covid vaccination rates are unsat. What are you going to do to move the needle?" and the officers spitball dumb ideas while taking note on how the CG reacts to them. The specialist running the powerpoint makes a mental note as well then spreads the gossip across base. The CG doesn't make any formal edicts, but to cover his own @ss, he speaks in generalities about possible punishments. It doesn't matter if it's legal, ethical, or right, it's all about green boxes on spreadsheets.

“That would be illegal.”

All US military was ordered to take the unapproved Anthrax vaccine during the Gulf War.

And all but a very few did, and they were exited with BCD after CM.

Yes they can order a soldier to take the vaccine.

All it takes is a presidential waiver of normal military regulations.

Also probably time to leave service.

I’d take that bet. Should be enough to do on base.

Those were approved and time tested vaccines, not experimental compounds.

Just like Agent Orange....OK, got it. Thanks

That’s a no. He is going to get relived. You can’t mark half the base non-deployable.

I thought the question of being able to order troops to subject themselves to medical experiments was settled after the whole Tuskegee incident...

“Can anyone tell me if this is legal under the UCMJ”

One of the major things military have to contend with is the capacity to world wide deployment. They may have to go at a moment’s notice and have to be capable without question. As long as the federal government determines that covid can harm the mission due to shortfalls, and determines the vaccines are the answer, they can be subject to vaccination. They already are all carrying shot records listing the inoculations for everything from flu to yellow fever. Annual inventory on each deployable person is accomplished and the shots are supposed to be up to date. Covid is just another on the list of many, some that are not even in the US any more but might be in a test tube somewhere ready to show its ugly head. Just part of the business.

And refusal to follow the orders of a superior falls under article 92:

A conviction of a violation of or failure to obey other lawful order carries the punishment of a bad-conduct discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for 6 months.

Easier to just get the shot just like the other ones.

You have to give the communist underlings now running the American military credit for leaving no stone unturned in a purge...

Their strategies ensure that when SK, NV, and Formosa fall to invasion in the next couple of years, there will be no American military might to stop them...

Nukes are out of the question since the American communists will never nuke the Chinese communists...
A lot of the nukes the chicoms would unload will be directly targeting the major cities run by American communists and neither side would want that...
The only safe places might be one of the thousands of chicom owned properties in the USSA...

This getting more and more like standing at the bottom of a mountain watching an avalanche begin it’s descent directly towards you...

If true then they should all join together and demand a discharge.

They are just going to restrict you to base. And in a few weeks, restrict you to barracks. Then bread and water. Permanent latrine duty.

Do you think it will end up with firing squads? 😀
