Politico Hypes Leftist Letter Begging Biden to Ignore GOP and Pass Trillions in New Spending

Politico hyped a letter to President Joe Biden signed by 18 leftist groups demanding that he bypass GOP lawmakers and inject the economy with trillions of dollars in new spending.

Politico’s story, headlined “John Podesta’s got a message for Joe Biden: Drop the Republicans,” was laced with left-wing agitprop. “[Leftist groups] are sounding the alarms that compromising with Republicans on a scaled-down infrastructure bill — and spending the time that such a deal might require — could make it increasingly difficult to pass the rest of Biden’s sweeping agenda,” Politico wrote. The letter, which was also addressed to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), pressed: “[W]e urge you to swiftly pass legislation that invests at least $4 trillion throughout the economy over this presidential term, bound by high-road labor, equity and climate standards.”

The media are running a bow wave of interference for them, so that half the public doesn’t even know what inflation is or why it is happening.

Back when we had a gold-backed currency, to tax and spend, you literally had to take money from people’s hands, and if you created too much debt, or a government started to go crazy, they could demand their gold back from the government

Now with a completely printed, fiat, Federal Reserve monetary system, politics is in charge. Those with power or influence can simply “demand” $Trillions of spending, by creating debt and printing money out of nowhere.

The Dems plan to pass their bills with reconciliation and to bypass the filibuster. They want to still give the appearance of bipartisanship until they pull the move in a month or so.

Politico is CNN and MSNBC now. It started out as a centrist site.

If they haven't woken up by now as to the dangers of multi-trillion dollar deficits and the subsequent hyperinflation, I consider them a lost cause. I remember telling folks here Trump and GOP Congresscritters needed to rein in the spending when the deficit reached $1 trillion. That was before COVID. I was told to trust Trump, to trust "the plan". I don't know what the plan was, but if it involved making America weak and indebted to China it succeeded. But by golly we got our tax cuts and our government spending too.

Both parties have been spending like drunken sailors for decades.

I believe in the “Atlas Shrugged” approach let it fail completely and totally then and only then will we seek a different approach

Talented and fair journalists like George Stephanopoulos have shown that the once hard and fast line between careers in politics and journalism is obsolete. In any event, POLITICO already employs some people who have worked in politics prior to coming to journalism, or who wrote for strongly ideological platforms before reorienting themselves to straight-news journalism.

Agreed. We need the reality to outshine the propaganda so people wake up. With the eunuchs in the GOP going along to get along... We are seeing the decline of the American experience.
