Trump was a great leader as a CEO. He hired people and promoted people in whom he saw evidence of accomplishment and or potential. He encouraged them to be the very best they could be. If they did not work out he fired them. Things do not work that way in Washington DC. He could not just hire people who had some attraction to him and then get rid of them when they didn’t work out without consequence. The swamp is deep.

I don’t disagree but Trump never even tried. Take the fight public and continue pounding the ‘drain the swamp’ theme. This is why Trump was elected in ‘16.

Very true, but DJT could have fired Barr and simply let the system roll the next available unit into his slot. He might have gone thru 20 stiffs before hitting on a real American but he would have been better off, not to mention he'd have drained some Swamp.

Trump should have fired them both as soon as Barr refused to get rid of Wray. He then should have gotten an outsider in Barr’s place as AG.

I think Trump believed he would not be able to get another nominee for either position through the Senate if he did that, and he’s probably correct.
Barr was NOT all he was cracked up to be, and I am of the opinions Trump got snookered on him, but again, that just my take.
P.S. Trump selected Barr for a reason. It was a brilliant choice. Trust The Plan.

I know people would say “I told you so” but I had such high hopes for Barr in the early going when it seemed like he was serious about following a pro-America, pro-Constitution, pro-Trump policy agenda.
Once again, a terrible disappointment. I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the ball with Lucy placeholding. Roberts, Cavanaugh, Durham, Gowdy and a host of others. Of course this comes on top of the slow-burning recognition that virtually all top agencies of government, including DOJ, FBI, CIA, DOD have gone to utter sh!t in the last few decades. Cronyism, Elitism, Leftism, Careerism, Full-on Politicization and weaponizing government power against anyone who dares challenge them.
