Trump should have fired them both as soon as Barr refused to get rid of Wray. He then should have gotten an outsider in Barr's place as AG.

100% Agree.
If the President knows what he wants, you do it. Or else you get a new job.
If anyone ever “threatens to quit”, they should be fired and walked out of the building. That includes the AG.

AG Barr was a waste of time, at least we knew Sessions was just plain dumb.

Saturday night massacre 2. The media would have had a field day.

Draining the swamp was a fail as it has been filled to the breaking point. The reason we are in this present situation is that POTUS Trump hired the worst people imaginable for his administration which far as I can tell is contrary to how he hired for his business.

My favorite president has a lot of time now to think over and evaluate his choices and missteps. Unfortunately.

In case you still believe Attorney General Bill Barr was one of the good guys. My own outsider's opinion is that Barr was "appointed" by the deep state to manage Trump. Trump accepted Barr because he called a truce on the Russia-gate nonsense and would at least support parts of Trump's agenda. The deep state just needed to keep Trump fenced-in until they could work their Nov. 3 election magic.

Trump should have fired them both as soon as Barr refused to get rid of Wray. He then should have gotten an outsider in Barr's place as AG. Yep. But the initial problem was hiring his first AG.

President Trump's
biggest mistake was choosing Javanka over Bannon/Gorka. Big mistake. Yuge mistake. President Trump could have used the wisdom of Gorka and Bannon; they are experienced and battle hardened. Javanka were just a couple of rich kids play acting. Daddy's little princess.
Princess!

I completely agree. If Trump’s true objective was to drain the swamp, why did he surround himself with the swamp in EVERY key position? Literally the worst evaluator or ‘talent’ I’ve ever seen.

My favorite president has a lot of time now to think over and evaluate his choices and missteps. Unfortunately. IMHO America's top apparatchiks (DOJ, CIA, DOD come to mind) are more powerful than the President or Congress. Trump (or any President) in no way had total control over these organs of Federal Power. He had to learn on the job who could be trusted, and who could not, all while trying to stay alive and move his agenda.

I did think that Trump was forced to use a lot of “Acting Director of” temporary appointments.
I don’t know if it would have worked for AG, or not, but even if he needed a new one every 6 months, it would have been worth it.
I always wondered how many Marines it would have taken to clear out the Hoover building.

Now whose side do you think he was on all along?

twoferPrecisely my first thought. I wonder what the chain of events would have been then? I guess Trump still must have thought Barr was on his side at that point.
