The author has no understanding of mRNA. mRNA is not gene therapy. It does not interact with the body’s DNA. mRNA instructs the body’s ribosomes to construct particular proteins. Gene therapy requires the use of retroviruses.
not exactly, the idea is that you can make the body look for and destroy a certain protein that is unique to the cancer cells.
You do this by making the non-cancerous cells produce this protein.
In theory anyway. fortunately we will soon have a bunch of data on how this stuff works in real life.
