Excellent. My favorite president. Thank you for posting this.

I had the honor, about 5 years ago, of standing next to the spot in NYC at which GW took his presidential oath for the first time. (A statue of him occupies the exact spot.)

Greatest president ever.

We were there on Friday, April 30, in honor of the 232nd anniversary of that first presidential inauguration! Several re-enactors were present in costume, including President Washington himself and "Mrs. Q," a well-to-do merchant woman of Revolutionary-era New York City, who appeared in a hand-made gown of the type that would have been worn to the many balls and celebrations at the time. After meeting at Federal Hall, we re-traced the route of the first inaugural parade, up Wall Street to Broadway, then north on Broadway to Saint Paul's Chapel, where the assembled federal officials, including the newly-inaugurated President, participated in a full worship service.

Video of the day is on Mrs. Q's facebook page - Patriot Tours NYC - at https://www.facebook.com/PatriotToursNyc/

Mrs. Q is Karen Quinones, who is a historian of the Revolutionary period and gives walking tours of the historic sites in New York City. Her web site might also be of interest - https://patriottoursnyc.com/ - Enjoy!
