Actress Rose McGowan compared the political left to a cult in a Monday interview with Tammy Bruce on Fox News.
“My persecution and awakening from being a Democrat was so much about what I do and what I say now — and so much about realizing how hardcore of a cult it is,” McGowan told Bruce.
McGowan told Bruce how growing up in a cult called “Children of God” gave her a “superpower” to spot other cults.
“It gave me the ability to see the control and the propaganda machine, especially in the U.S., for what it is and how it harms people, and how the left can harm people just as much as the right if they go very, very deep into it and ignore all other aspects of — kind of reality in a way and that you’re serving a master that might not be serving you,” McGowan said. McGowan then advised any viewers watching to make a list of their own belief system and decide what part of it is organic and what part has been embedded by others, which could include Hollywood, the media and leaders.....

Awaken from Being a Republican, too!
Congratulations on giving up the Flavor-Aid, Rose.
Most folks don’t know Jim Jones used the cheap knock-off of Kool-Aid.
Awakening from being a D is good.
Now, she needs to ‘awaken’ to being a follower of Jesus Christ. There is no other Name by which we are saved and by which we can be healed, and God knows, she needs some healing.
Rejoice when a person - any person - breaks free of evil...
Glad to hear it Rose hopefully the GOP won’t have Liz Cheney have a talk with you...so you don’t have flashbacks to the days when you where calling her dad and W War Criminals which after the WMD fiasco a case can be made they are
I got a poll call yesterday and they asked me if I was a Democrat and I said no. Then they asked me if I was a republican and I said no, I’m an free American that can think for myself.
I would settle for Rose McGowan just being an Independent.
I rather liked her character on the series “Charmed”, as one of the “3-P” witches. That series also had Alyssa Milano, as a borderline “wicked” witch, on so many levels.
Shannen Doherty was on that show too, and at least back then she was one of the few Hollywood “Republicans”.
Most cults let their members leave with less harassment than does the left.
“McGowan (a former dem) then advised any viewers watching to make a list of their own belief system and decide what part of it is organic and what part has been embedded by others...”
very good Rose. you’ve got to figure out what you know from original sources (like God and yourself) and what you’ve been fed by others. (a lot of republicans have found out this year that they needed to do that too.)
I would argue that whites were also Jim Crow victims.
It took away freedom of association and freedom to do business from whites as well as blacks.
I lived in the Jim Crow South... that’s just NOT how it was seen. In the South blacks could get close to whites, but not big or powerful. In the North blacks could get big and powerful but not close. Weird culture stuff back then... most of it horrible.
Wokeism is definitely an alternative religion. But it offers no path for forgiveness of sins.
I believe you that’s not “how it was seen”.
But if a business owner wanted to open an integrated restaurant, for example, it was illegal.
Whites were not free to associate with blacks in a manner one may have wanted to, etc...
This was the government stopping people from exercising their rights.
In the north in the Jim Crow Years a black person could open a business and become a millionaire... Easily. How 'big' a black person became in the North was not an issue. But social interactions between races in the North were limited. In the South a black person could never own a business that hired white people... but the owner of a white business might be closer to his black nanny than to his mother... It's hard to explain within the context of our time.
The best book I read on it - years ago - that helped explain the everyday horrors of Jim Crow was a book called 'Black Like Me'... There was an every day degredation that went on to keep blacks 'in their place'... Here's an example from my own life: I was waiting for a bus in front of Woolworths and decided to get a sandwich. I could see the guy at the front of the store making them and would be able to see my bus if it came. So I ran in, ordered a sandwich and the man said, "you need to order from the counter - these sandwiches are for 'n------' (the N word). I said I wanted to watch for my bus and the sandwiches were the same so make one for me...He objected again and I insisted. Long story short the ham had obviously gone bad and I got sick from eating it. That's a small example but multiply it by thousands of insults and degredations and that was the Jim Crow south... read the book. "Black Like Me" it came out in the 60's... it's an eye opener for whites.
California has a rich history of the cult lifestyle.
Next she’ll awaken to a blacklist and never work.
I read black like me as a youngster.
What you’re saying here is not hard to understand but irrelevant, or tangential, not the point I make.
“Black Like Me”
Read it. Great book.
Today’s version would be “White like me”.
