Thanks for the explanation.
Covid wasn’t the only thing Dr. Faucistein was involved in. And he got patents too.
Sounds like you are an authority.
Good article.
Interesting.
I’m sure rand will send fake fauci a harshly worded email.
Don’t underestimate the arrogance of those doing that research. It’s entirely possible that they aren’t doing that way, because it takes time and effort, and they don’t think there will ever be an accident.
Also thanks for your thick skin.
” 4) The one protein they tested was the spike protein which is responsible for virus attachment to cells.
5) They made several viruses in which they replaced the spike protein of the lab virus with a spike protein of a wild virus. They found that many of the lab viruses that contain wild spike proteins were able to attach to human cells”
isn’t the replacement of the spike protein in the lab virus with the spike protein from the wild bat virus, thus allowing the modified bat virus to now attach to the human cells the process that is known as “gain of function”??? and that is exactly what Fauci’s grant of $7 miilion to the Wuhan lab was all about!!!
It’s about time! I’ve been waiting for someone to bring this forward! The Quack used our hard earned tax dollars to create the weaponized menace that they let loose in our country.
No, it is not gain of function. The spike protein in the lab virus already gives the lab virus the ability to attach to human cells. Replacing it with wild spike proteins to see if they also attach to human cells is not giving a virus any function it did not already have.
As I said, testing a variant of a protein in an otherwise known system to see its function is routine biochemical research. I've done it myself, testing a human or monkey or rat version of a protein in mouse cells to compare the function of the same protein from different species.
Thank you for noticing. I am retired now, but I spent a large part of my career analyzing public health threats from infectious disease. I was even part of a pandemic response network.
Thank you for the support.
I blame the spread of misinformation for ushering in the Biden "presidency." I think the charges of racism could be combated (since they are made about every Republican and conservative), but when the Covid-19 misinformation was planted in conservative circles and conservatives actually ran with it, it gave the Biden campaign the ammo it needed to portray Trump as incompetent. More elections are coming up, and as long as this misinformation persists, it will be used against conservative candidates in those elections. So I fight the misinformation as much as I can, because the future of the country as a leftist dystopia really concerns me.
You’re welcome.
In 2014, the NIH approved a grant to EcoHealth Alliance designated for research into “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.” The project involved collaborating with researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology to study coronaviruses in bats and the risk of potential transfer to humans. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/05/04/fact-check-obama-administration-did-not-send-3-7-m-wuhan-lab/3061490001/

Thanks for the link.
However, it does not give enough detail for me to find again the paper that was supposed to be the “smoking gun” for the conspiracy theory that the Chinese conducted gain-of-function experiments. This is very frustrating, I wish I would have downloaded or bookmarked the paper in question.
As a matter of fact, I've sat in on plenty of discussions about gain-of-function. It happens to be a very delicate topic in government research labs... like where I worked before I retired.
Start looking at the nonprofit. The money was laundered through them
