I find this difficult to fathom.

Perhaps the camera angle hides the small nose of AF2. A portion of the underbelly may be visible on the extreme right edge, under the walkway....which is why the salute was the focus of the story.

Kamala would only be a pretender if she were to salute. She was never in the military and she is not in the chain of command of the US military. This issue with saluting is hog wash.
