If those parts of Kentucky were like third world dumps before anyone even heard of the internet, then they aren’t going to get any better even if you wire the whole place with broadband internet service.
Could be those people like living “off the grid”. Problem is gubmint can’t track their internet and cell phones. Those folks are unruly. /s kind of
Surely you jest. Why, I’ll just bet that the fine people of those places will, as soon as broadband is available, will utilize the wealth of information now available to them to do such things as:
1)Learn how to start a business
2)Learn how to improve the operations of their community
3)Improve their health and well-being
4)Learn how to maintain and repair their house and vehicle
Actually, nahh. We all know they’ll just use it to surf porno sites.
As a person who lived in KY for 40 years, I agree 100%.
But were they “third world dumps before anyone heard of the internet”?
No.
Businesses like coal companies — and don’t sneer, the miners made good money on average — have been shut down and pulled out of these areas.
