Former President George W. Bush said in an interview he did not vote for either candidate in the 2020 presidential election and instead wrote in Condoleeza Rice, who served as his secretary of state.
"She knows it," he told People. "But she told me she would refuse to accept the office."
The relationship between the Bush family and former President Trump has never been close. Trump defeated his brother, Jeb Bush, in the tense Republican primary in 2016.

George Bush reveals for whom he voted in 2020
That’s probably the best way to write it ... grammatically
“Prease crap.”
He really voted for Lyzzy Cheney.
Agree. He is a Biden kind of guy.
I remember his famous line when people where telling him Dick Cheney was running the White House... I’m the decider! Sure you are George sure you are
Stupid man. He gave us Braindead Biden and Ms. Marxist Mattress of 2021.
For years now I’ve been posting my view the George Bush is not essentially a movement conservative but a committed Christian.
The truth is straightforward, as usual. Bush is first a committed Christian, then a devoted family man who values personal loyalty to an extreme, and third, a conservative when that philosophy does not conflict with the first two. [Bush's commitment to loyalty as a supreme value next to godliness partially explains his vote for Condoleezza Rice. Loyalty and commitment to family explain his loathing of Donald Trump in the wake of Trump's humiliation of brother Jeb.]
FAITH TRUMPS PARTY
If George Bush and his family think that politics is “smarmy” and that party politics are even more smarmy, it comes from his epiphany with Billy Graham which made him a new man, a man which sees another world, a larger vision. The world of party politics is grimy and transitory and not a worthy place to store up one’s treasure. It is as nothing against the overwhelming contemplation of eternity.
THE PROPER ROLE OF PARTY IN GOVERNANCE
Today, no administration can effectively govern if it permits itself to be frustrated by the checks and balances in the Constitution. [ compare the Trump administration with the Biden administration the latter avoiding the checks and balances of the Constitution to a degree never witnessed by Americans in time of peace or war] The degree to which the Congress will do the president’s will largely depends upon the degree to which he can exercise party discipline. George Bush was a profound failure in this respect .
Written now in 2021:
George Bush traded on his "conservatism" to garner the votes of conservatives, their loyalty, their money, their goodwill, and even their shoe leather but he never held himself to account to those people, rather his alignment was to his faith, his family and a broader group to whom he ascribed "loyalty."
He failed understand the party system beyond gaining election for himself and he failed to understand that his adversaries in the Democrat party were actually his enemies and enemies of all the values that were attractive in him and which caused him to fail.
Trump defeated his brother, Jeb Bush, in the tense Republican primary in 2016.
Trump didn’t just merely “Defeated” him! He wiped the floor with him so bad that there was noting left but a greasy spot!
Stay owt da Bushes!
It doesn’t matter who anyone voted for. For Bush to say anything other than that was not an election it was a theft of the White House by people who seek to destroy this country is idiotic. To put it mildly
He’s about as arrogantly stupid as the moronic governor of Maryland who was proud of voting for a dead guy, Ronald Reagan.
He was the lesser of two evils at the time. I voted for this imbecile but held my nose as I did!
The idiot Bush thought it was so morally good to throw away his vote!!!!
The “Liberals” were right. He is an idiot.
