On eBay, buyers often hunt for hard-to-find items. Ismael Almada was one of them. Except that he was searching for military-grade weapons and accessories — and they weren’t for fun or sport.
Almada and his brother, Carlos, used over 50 PayPal accounts to avoid suspicion. Steathily, they made purchases of tactical gear like grenade launchers, gun parts, night-vision goggles, and bullet-proof vests. Ismael was also using his mother’s credit card to make many of the purchases, he would later admit to the DEA.
Then, the brothers provided the gear to New Generation — a fearsome cartel operating in Jalisco, Mexico.
New Generation (CJNG) has a reputation for using military-level tactical gear. The cartel even once shot down a military helicopter with a grenade launcher.

I try to buy all my stingers and .50s on ebay.
So let me guess, we need to stop people in America from buying plate carriers, NVG, ammo pouches and canteens?
When I sell anti-aircraft systems on ebay I always have a little check box on the page “I affirm that I am not a cartel member”. Problem solved.
100% regarding the plate carriers... various pols have already targeted plate carriers as ‘needing to be banned’. Legit NVGs have been too $$$ to get widespread use, but that’s changing. I’m sure they’ll come after those... along with optics that are ‘tactical’ in nature such as ACOGS, LPVs, etc.
Legal Zoom is almost always the answer.
I sell them and all that other stuff but only on Craigslist.......Ebay charges too much in commissions....
If you're still in the market, look for my ads cleverly advertised as My Little Pony merchandise........
I’ve seen firearms on Craigslist, but you have to know how to read “the code.”
“I try to buy all my stingers and .50s on ebay.”
You know there are people who will believe you.
Are EBAY and PAYPAL going to be Prosecuted and Sued for their “Product” being used for Criminal Activity, see Gun Manufacturers
Whoa! When his mom finds out he's been charging grenade launchers to her Amex he's gonna be in trouble
We are lucky PayPal requires a User ID. Too bad they don’t think you need one for voting.
If they got the grenade launcher on ebay then the helicopter must have been a plastic scale model. Ebay has lots of grenade launchers for sale, assuming you want to use them to arm your GI-Joe model, and don't mind that they are made out of plastic and are about 6" long and completely non-functional.
More fake news. Random parts aren't "military hardware" or "grenade launchers". The article has a photo showing what appear to be rifles and some crew served weapons. That stuff didn't come from ebay. But it may have come from the Obama administration's plan to arm the cartels. Or it came from corrupt members of the Mexican military.
Hope you're not referring to participants on this site..........
Anyone seen Holder around of late.
“Hope you’re not referring to participants on this site..........”
No, but we’ve had monitors for many years. I hope it cuases their heads to explode.
The cartel even once shot down a military helicopter with a grenade launcher.
Wait until they meet Mr. Ghost Rider, really really bad, very bad hombre. Question: do grenade launchers launch grenades out 6 miles and up 10000 ft in the dead of night?
