Various press outlets have reported, but largely under-reported, a developing scandal regarding the Montana Supreme Court and their refusal to abide by information requests for their email correspondence on publicly-owned servers. But what lies under the surface of the scandal – and what is currently developing – will likely lead to the biggest news story in Montana politics in decades. Ultimately, as this saga continues, the scandal might lead to the impeachment of Supreme Court Justices and the arrest of at least one employee of the court. In the end, Governor Gianforte might be able to appoint new justices to the court, overthrowing the last liberal stronghold in the Montana state government.

Yep, the very idea of the judges lobbying amongst themselves as if they are legislators is wrong, wrong, wrong.
They should stick to applying the law and not try to make it.

The best live concert I ever saw was Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention. The best song of the concert was “Apostrophe.” Zappa and the Mothers played for over three hours straight, nonstop. They were great! And I’ve seen most every famous rock and roll band there ever was in the 60s and 70s.

After taking part in the thread derailment, I went to read the article.
Basically, the Montana courts were caught being canvassed about a Senate bill that was passed into law that the liberal judges don’t like. A couple judges recused themselves from hearing arguments to have the law overturned judicially because they actively lobbied to have the bill vetoed. Dozens of other judges made their prejudices known about the law before hearing arguments about it from plaintiffs that hope to bring the matter to court.
The emails recording the cavassing were deleted from public servers and now an officer of the court is being ordered to present them or explain why they were deleted under threat of an issuance of a warrant their arrest if they defy the order.
But the kicker is that someone else has recovered the emails and released them. There are links to batches of the recovered emails for all to read.

Definitely one of my favorite Zappa songs...but there are so many favorites.
