For me, that would have been a very emasculating experience. I remember when my sons got old enough to drive, I wouldn't let them drive my car until they showed me they could change a tire.
It won’t be necessary for your assistance when I do move. And no, you are not allowed to drive my truck.
Thats what makes it work.
Seinfeld, its funny, cuz its real.
You're kidding yourself is you think that what the Women's Movement is all about.
The Women's Movement and probably most of their followers are about rebelling against the God-given unequal roles between husbands and wives, men and women and that husbands are the head of their wives who are to obey their husbands. Long gone today which is the root cause of more divorces than ever before.
The problem is of course confusing equal VALUE (men and women are of equal value) with unequal ROLE (men and women are NOT of equal role). The Women's Movement tries to say role IS value. The age-old, sad lie that performance equals value.
The recipe for making ice totally baffles women as well
The comment you made was so ignorant as to be both cringeworthy and disgusting. That you don’t understand that is your problem. If you have a wife, daughters, granddaughters, maybe you should have a conversation with them. Do they feel, or did you raise them or do you treat them with such disrespect that they are incompetent or lack confidence in their abilities?
Thanks, I will have that Saturday all to myself!
OK, that’s fine. That’s why we have men. I have no need to work those straps. But I WILL inspect the load and make sure it is strapped down sufficiently. If it’s not the MEN will have to do more.
Just not seeing how the retirement savings discussion fits in here!
In retirement, I will have more time to help people strap down their loads.
For some things, ratchet straps are better. I’ll use them every time I transport the Sportster, and prefer to use them if I’m carrying something heavy on a flatbed. For just keeping items from falling or blowing out of a pickup bed, I’d as soon use rope and knots. Less likely to pinch my fingers.
One of my friends has seven sons, and another has nine.
Life is what lands on us, which I think is kind of what you said.
Nope. Commodities is the way to go now. Lead, brass, shoes, camping gear, seed, tools, dehydrated groceries....
I live near Charlotte. It’s average ;-).
We just put stuff in the van.
This is a typical Sam Adams thread. It’s not supposed to make much sense.
Flat tires ain’t nothing. Hell, when I was 17, my buddy was swapping out the old motor in his Impala with a rebuilt 327, and we needed to move the new mouse motor. We borrowed his dad’s truck, used an engine winch to get it into the bed, and used strap-downs (we called them ‘come-alongs’), then hauled ass. His old man was a Shriner, so they let us use the motor pool garage at the club to have a little engine party one Saturday night. By about 6 AM, there were five of us drunks hooting and saluting the ‘72 Impala convertible with a 327 four barrel doing donuts in the parking lot. And a dead 307 sitting in the back of the truck. (I think we just went down a county road and rolled the damn thing down a hill. LOL)
I often have occasion to move heavy furniture. Securing with straps is a subset of moving stuff, and moving stuff is a man thing. I would as soon perform surgery on myself, as attempt to strap a piano to a trailer.
Him as loads it, ties it.
I’m not sure that I know how to operate ratchet straps, which must be confirmation that I am in fact a lesbian.
Good on ya Sam!
My mom drove mostly in NJ and never in her life pumped gas. Told me to avoid it at all costs. There aren't many full service stations in my territory but I would go far out of my way to use them. And most days I give a friend a ride and they'll pump gas. It really pays to know people on the revoked list. :)
