This will not make any headlines.

Politico reported:

For weeks, Capitol riot defendants being held in Washington have complained that they are locked in their cells with virtually no human contact for 23 hours a day. But a startling, graphic account offered publicly in court on Tuesday by one such inmate, Ronald Sandlin, went further: alleging that guards have subjected those charged in the Jan. 6 events to violence, threats and verbal harassment.

This is outrageous, but the first question is why are these people held in solitary, pre-trial detention when they have no priors and pose no flight risk or general danger to the public?

Because the DOJ has falsely heightened the charges with specious claims in order to bolster it's "insurrection" political narrative.

These are genuine political prisoners being held by a poisonous Federal "criminal justice" system.

The government already has these folks classified as

“domestic terrorists”

which legitimizes Gitmo like conditions for them.

Yes: I read details of one bond hearing where the judge considered that the prisoner had not expressed remorse for his actions as one of the reasons for keeping him in jail.

The trial hasn't even taken place yet, so how can a judge complain about a "lack of remorse" and still maintain the legal presumption of innocence?

Almost all of these cases are a painful mockery of the law and the Constitution. They almost justify an "insurrection" by themselves.

The federal governments plans to do this to any dissenting America if we keep letting the criminals in the regime have their way.

Many LEOs, as they grandiosely call themselves, have correctional guard backgrounds.. Thanks to the connections that I inherited from my ex-wife I know federal corrections officers personally and they both wanted to be police officers very badly. One ended up as an air marshal that's to the odious Patriot Act and the other never made it to the police because of physical disability. if this is happening in the prisons it's happening in the streets with the beat cops. American police are turning into rent-a-thugs who only “police” the opposition.

I also know many police officers, my ex-wife wife's father, sister and her sister's husband have been police officers in Arizona for roughly 25 years each. only one of them was a control freak and I'll let you guess which one it was.

And don't get me started on the topic of cops and "professional courtesy" (legal harassment is for the little people).

Another unarmed insurrection?

Yeah, that would be as stupid as ever.

I had a friend, who was once a guard in a Marine brig.

One of the prisoners there attacked a guard, who had to be discharged from active duty, because of the injuries inflicted.

That prisoner had a regular daily appointment with an ass kicking after that, until he was transferred away for medical treatment.

What won't make headlines? The beating, or Biden telling us how to celebrate the 4th of July?

I think we need to be careful when copying and pasting.

“The lawyer says the DOC and FBI are looking into the incident”

Well now doesn’t that just give you a warm fuzzy. Our great, corrupt Wray led FBI is supposedly investigating. Right!

“...A Pennsylvania man charged in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol was “viciously and savagely beaten” by a corrections officer at a prison in Washington, D.C., his lawyer said Tuesday.

The assault occurred while Ryan Samsel’s hands were secured behind his back with zip ties, Harrisburg-area lawyer Elisabeth Pasqualini said.

She said the March 21 incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the FBI....”

Oh, it’s the “subject” of an ongoing investigation by the FBI. Well then, we can be sure justice will be done. /major league sarcasm

“He suffered serious bodily injuries including a shattered orbital floor and broken orbital bone which have caused him to lose sight in his right eye, perhaps permanently,” Pasqualini said. “His nose was broken and his jaw dislocated. He has lost feeling on the left side of his face. In addition to the severe bruising and swelling around his face, he has deep cuts and bruising to his wrists from the zip ties.”

“Mr. Samsel has had at least one seizure since the assault.

Pa. man charged in U.S. Capitol riot was ‘savagely’ beaten by a prison corrections officer, his lawyer says

The photo in the article at your link shows a photo of Samsel purportedly assaulting a police officer. I notice he is wearing a red ball cap, backwards. That was supposedly the signal that Antifa told its agitators to use at the Capitol riots—wear a MAGA hat, but backwards. Wonder if he was really with THEM, not us.
