Politico reported:
For weeks, Capitol riot defendants being held in Washington have complained that they are locked in their cells with virtually no human contact for 23 hours a day. But a startling, graphic account offered publicly in court on Tuesday by one such inmate, Ronald Sandlin, went further: alleging that guards have subjected those charged in the Jan. 6 events to violence, threats and verbal harassment.
“Myself and others involved in the Jan. 6 incident are scared for their lives, not from each other but from correctional officers,” Sandlin said during a bail hearing conducted by video before U.S. District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich. “I don’t understand how this is remotely acceptable,” he added, saying he was being subjected to “mental torture.”
In an unusual direct plea to the judge, Sandlin said another Capitol riot defendant, Ryan Samsel, “was severely beaten by correctional officers, [is now] blind in one eye, has a skull fracture and detached retina.”
Sandlin also described racial tension between minority guards and the largely white defendants, some of whom have been publicly accused of membership in or association with white supremacist groups.
Is that like a collection of GP headlines. It doesn’t look like a “story”.
But if there are other sites that report it, I’ll be more inclined to believe it. GP has burned me on “sensational” stories way too many times.
Black thug cops beating and torturing whites. The cops have seen the opportunity to switch places with their “oppressors” and they’re taking full advantage.
DC Police?
Could be they are racists......................
Doesnt this guy have an attorney? I will believe this story when its hits a real news reporter. Oan
Yeah. To be fair to GP, it appears they are just quoting what the guy said. And that is good reporting. If it IS true, it needs to be covered.
“Doesnt this guy have an attorney? “
Yes see my other post, it has info from his attorney.
Ad-hominem and strawman in one shot. That is exceptional.
Correctional officers are not police officers. They are less trained and focused on correctional facilities only. They do not go outside the facility and cannot fulfill the role of police officers.
Just be patient, they will be here. You can count on it. Like a flame draws moths. They can’t go after someone mano e mano. They have to either zip tie or handcuff them, Plus gang up at least 10 to one before they get brave.
Imagine if this was a BLM or Antifa protester. I wonder if CNN would be on it. I wonder if Don Lemon or Stelter would be discussing it.
It’s mainly Jim Hoft doing that. Other GP writers are much better then he is.

A Pennsylvania man charged in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol was “viciously and savagely beaten” by a corrections officer at a prison in Washington, D.C., his lawyer said Tuesday.
The assault occurred while Ryan Samsel’s hands were secured behind his back with zip ties, Harrisburg-area lawyer Elisabeth Pasqualini said.
She said the March 21 incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the FBI.
Samsel, 37, of Bristol, Bucks County, is being held on charges that he assaulted a law enforcement officer during the Jan. 6 riot that temporarily shut down a session by Congress that was meeting to certify Joe Biden’s election as president.
Pasqualini said Samsel was assaulted by the corrections officer soon after being awakened in the DC prison early on March 21.
“He suffered serious bodily injuries including a shattered orbital floor and broken orbital bone which have caused him to lose sight in his right eye, perhaps permanently,” Pasqualini said. “His nose was broken and his jaw dislocated. He has lost feeling on the left side of his face. In addition to the severe bruising and swelling around his face, he has deep cuts and bruising to his wrists from the zip ties.”
“Mr. Samsel has had at least one seizure since the assault. An underlying medical condition makes him at higher risk for thoracic complications,” she added.
Pasqualini said other inmates heard the alleged assault and told their attorneys, who then told her about it. She said Samsel was briefly hospitalized.
“We are informed that an internal investigation is being conducted by the Department of Corrections and an independent investigation is being undertaken by the FBI,” she said. She said Samsel was moved to another undisclosed prison Tuesday.

You can say THAT again... You will read and reread every paragraph until you get it right!
The antifa and BLM thugs were released the same night they burned down a building or killed a cop.
But our side? One window was broken ONE door damages... but the ‘elites’ were frightened and that’s all the matters...
We need a better class of ‘elites’... (see tag)
Forced marches to the cattle cars are next.
