Better a smart one than a dumb one, such as yourself.
How long did it take you to come up with that one?.....I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and p**p out a better statement than that.
In the Donetsk regional traumatology, they said that on April 15 they received an order to vacate 60% of the beds and put the bomb shelters in order by April 21.
It is on Wednesday that the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly is scheduled. Also, on April 22-23, Donetsk should host the forum “Unity of Russians: Protection of Rights and Freedoms

Think about it this way please; Ukraine was a province of Russia, not a Warsaw Pact country like Poland. Extremely valuable in terms of natural resources and industry. Russia wants them back.
7th century the Bulgars, then the Khazar kingdom, 882 the Vikings, etc for details see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Ukraine
Is this, i.e. pick your year, the way to determine the sovereignty?
Mexico will go for 1821–1836 to get Texas etc. Britain a year whithin 1607 to 1783...
Nobody is going to ever pull the nuclear trigger first. There is no scenario where any advantage is gained.
Separation is recent. Our influence is on the wane. Ukraine would be a huge economic addition to Russia’s shakey economy .
‘This is our land,’ China now claims Russia's Vladivostok as part of its territory.
China doesn't want friends. It doesn't want peaceful borders either. The only thing that China wants is territory- more and more of it. An expansionist China is already claiming maritime territory and islands within the territorial waters and Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) of other countries in the South China Sea and Japanese islands in the East China Sea.
In the Himalayas, China is encroaching Nepalese villages and trying to push the LAC further west along the Indo-Tibetan border in Ladakh. And now China is claiming territory of another neighbour- Russia.
That is why your principle is unworkable.

There is a difference. Ukraine was once a provence of Russia. The others not. Too, there’s a large proRussia segment in eastern Ukraine.
Most Russians in Ukraine are Ex Pats, and so I suppose the large cadre of ex pats in America from Russia would justify a fore majeur invasion of the United States?
This annexation of Ukraine will not end well.
We will have a nuclear test in the Ukraine to create a no mans land between Russia and Ukraine? Rumors are flying .
Otherwise Pooty owns the field.
Russophiles in Ukraine were seeded there by Stalin.
Ukraine is much too valuable to be seriously damaged by Russia. That being said Putin is a very smart and ruthless player.
So, your principle only applies to territories that once was part of Russia? Like Alaska (1867)?
