A watchdog group is claiming that a U.S. bio-research nonprofit failed to follow U.S. law and publicly disclose its taxpayer-funded grants to a Chinese coronavirus laboratory under scrutiny for its immediate proximity to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The White Coat Waste Project, a group dedicated to stopping taxpayer funding of what it claims is "wasteful and cruel animal experimentation," claimed last week in a filing to the National Institutes of Health's Division of Program Integrity that EcoHealth Alliance has engaged in "widespread violations of federal spending transparency law" by way of numerous press releases over the past several years.
Federal tax records show that EcoHealth Alliance funneled federal NIH grants to the Wuhan Institute of Virology for several years leading up to the start of the pandemic, ultimately handing the lab hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money to conduct experiments into potentially pandemic coronaviruses. The Wuhan lab is located just a few miles from where Chinese officials claimed the pandemic began at a local wet market.
In its letter to the NIH, White Coat claims that EcoHealth has "failed to publicly disclose taxpayer funding for its work with WIV, in violation of federal law."...
Peter Daszak, the president of EcoHealth Alliance, did not respond to queries seeking comment on the allegations. Nor did Deborah Kearse, the director of the NIH's Division of Program Integrity, to whom the letter was addressed....

Interesting article about him and his associates.
Dr. Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, who has been working in China for 15 years studying diseases that jump from animals to people, said, “We don’t know the source yet, but there’s pretty strong evidence that this is a bat origin coronavirus.” He said, “It’s probably going to be the Chinese horseshoe bat,”

Gee the CDC gave a grant to the puppies and bunnies club, isn’t that wonderful....see how good they are?
Thank God somebody is willing to follow the money......and find the shitpools where dollars go up in smoke.
Daszak has served on committees of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, World Health Organization (WHO)
In 2021, Daszak was part of the team of scientists who were tasked by the WHO with finding out from where the SARS-Cov-2 virus originated.
Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance were the only U.S. organization researching coronavirus spread and transmission in China until the project’s funding was “abruptly terminated” by the National Institutes of Health in a move that was widely reported to be politically motivated.
A May 8, 2020 article in the journal Science, said that the unusual April 24 decision to cut EcoHealth’s funding, occurred shortly after “President Donald Trump alleged—without providing evidence—that the pandemic virus had escaped from a Chinese laboratory supported by the NIH grant, and vowed to end the funding.”
Daszak was named by the World Health Organization as the sole U.S.-based representative on a team sent to investigate origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, a team that also includes Marion Koopmans, Hung Nguyen, and Fabian Leendertz. According to NPR, Daszak “says wildlife farms in southern China are the most likely source of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
US Scientist With Close Ties To Wuhan Lab Discussed Manipulating Bat-Based Coronaviruses Just Weeks Before Outbreak
https://dailycaller.com/2021/01/21/peter-daszak-manipulating-coronavirus-interview/
Dr. Peter Daszak described how easy it was to manipulate bat-based coronaviruses in an interview filmed just weeks before the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan.
Daszak has close ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and reportedly pushed back against a National Institute of Health request that he arrange an outside inspection of the lab.
Daszak orchestrated a statement at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that condemned “conspiracy theories” that the virus did not have a natural origin.
Daszak now serves on a World Health Organization panel currently investigating the origins of the pandemic on the ground in China.
A U.S. doctor who is part of the World Health Organization team investigating the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic discussed his work manipulating bat-based coronaviruses in labs just weeks before the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan.
Dr. Peter Daszak, a close associate with China’s premier bat-based coronavirus researcher and a key figure in directing taxpayer funds to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, explained how easy it was to alter coronaviruses during a podcast interview filmed Dec. 9, 2019.
“You can manipulate them in the lab pretty easily,” Daszak said. “Spike protein drives a lot of what happens with the coronavirus. Zoonotic risk. So you can get the sequence, you can build the protein — and we work with Ralph Baric at [the University of North Carolina] to do this — and insert the backbone of another virus and do some work in the lab.”
REPORT: COVID Researcher With Connection to Wuhan Lab Donated To Biden Over 70 Times
In January of this year, the Wall Street Journal reported that a team of World Health Organization (WHO) researchers had arrived in China but would not investigate the possibility that the coronavirus originated in a lab. One of the researchers has been called out by the National Pulse for being compromised by his political leanings to the left. Could favoritism toward China keep the researchers from digging deeper into the origins of the coronavirus in China?
The National Pulse reports that World Health Organization researcher Peter Daszak donated 71 times to Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. The donations to Biden all happened over a five-month period. The donations called into question the WHO and the media’s depiction of Daszak as a neutral investigator into the origins of the virus that caused the deaths of millions around the world. Is this researcher protecting China or just anti-Trump? Either way, this is dangerous censorship of information that the world should know the answer to ASAP.
Even worse, Daszak made several donations to an anti-Trump PAC called Really American. According to Open Secrets, the PAC spent nearly one million dollars campaigning against President Trump’s reelection. Most of the donations to the PAC came from a Canadian company that donated 27 times with over 200K.

Daszak speaks about the coronavirus at the 29:52 point:
Interviewer: “So you say these are diverse coronaviruses and you can’t vaccinate against them and no anti-virals, so what do we do?”
Peter Daszak: “Well, coronaviruses are pretty good… you can manipulate them in the lab pretty easy, you know. Spike protein drives a lot what happens in a coronavirus. Zoonotic risk. So you can get the sequence, you can build a protein, and we work with Ralph Baric at UNC, a genius, insert into the backbone of another virus, and do some work in the lab, and you can get more predictive when you find a sequence…”
Yeah, I thought it was the same guy.
Thanks for the info.
I have an info sheet I want to type up and study so I can better debate people about this whole ‘rona thing.
«A scientist on the WHO’s controversial fact-finding mission to Wuhan has today launched an extraordinary attack on US intelligence – saying it is ‘wrong on many aspects’ about Covid. Peter Daszak, a British-American expert in pandemics, warned people not ‘to rely too much’ on information coming out of the US and instead to ‘trust’ Chinese data» wrote reporters Tim Stickings and Chris Pleasance on February 10 on MailOnline.
We need to look closely at this Biden supporter.
He was part of the WHO committee that named this Covid-19
He is definitely in China’s pocket, working there 15 years with the Bat Virus Lady.
After this vehement opening, the report of the British newspaper analyzes all the macroscopic conflicts of interest of Daszak and the director of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, which in fact represent the synthesis of the WuhanGates inquiries no. 24 and 27 conducted by Gospa News and previewed in the USA by Veterans Today. At the center of the intrigues are precisely his dangerous relationships already revealed in our previous articles in which it emerged that Bill Gates is the link between WHO, Wuhan, New York, United Kingdom, the European Union and multinational vaccines.
Well, I'M shocked...The government wants to disarm us after 244 yrs 'cuz they plan to do things we would shoot them for!
At no point in history has any government ever wanted its people to be defenseless for any good reason ~ nully's son

It’s worth reading in conjunction with new reporting by the National Pulse’s Natalie Winters that lists all the studies that Daszak coauthored involving either co-authors with ties to Chinese party-state entities, or funding by such institutions.
The organizations implicated in Daszak’s research include the Chinese Academy of Science, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and programs operated by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Like every other sector of society in China today, scientific research simply cannot exist independently of the Chinese Communist Party’s aims, as Winters points out:
The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC) has also funded Daszak’s studies on Bat Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome and novel astroviruses from small mammals in China, and Serological Evidence of Bat SARS-Related Coronavirus.
The NNSFC “implements works entrusted by the State Council and relevant governmental administrations,” lists itself as a state-owned institution formed “under the loving care of comrade Deng Xiaoping.” The NNSFC also describes itself as “guided by President Xi Jinping’s Socialist Thoughts with Chinese Characteristics for the new era.”
One 2015 paper noted by Winters — co-authored by Daszak and a team of Chinese researchers, including some with People’s Liberation Army affiliations — attempted to sketch out the future of cooperation on combating infectious diseases between U.S. and Chinese scientists. All of this is all the more relevant in light of the State Department’s claims that “The Wuhan Institute of Virology has engaged in classified research, including laboratory animal experiments, on behalf of the Chinese military since at least 2017.”
The authors of the paper had gathered for a meeting in China, and the document summarized the findings of their discussions:
These leading nations have the opportunity to set an example for best practices in science by combining intellectual, technological, and financial resources to help reduce the impacts from emerging infectious diseases at every level, from families to global economies. Working more closely together, the world can head off the threat of pandemics through an improved understanding of the underlying drivers of disease emergence, with benefits for science, health, ecological integrity, and economic well-being.
Back then — the first year of Daszak’s NIH grant — such cooperation on global public-health issues was a no-brainer, which is why U.S. funding offered to Daszak was used to support WIV research. In the intervening years, clearly, and following the outset of the pandemic, much has changed in this reflexive sort of engagement with Beijing.
But it seems, though, that Daszak’s interactions with Chinese institutions have convinced him of an obstinate need to placate an authoritarian regime with no true interest in fighting infectious diseases, to the point that he’s been one of its loudest defenders in the scientific community. And up until now, Daszak, who was lauded as a credible expert and rewarded with favorable media coverage, was massively successful in discrediting the lab-leak theory, despite his many, obvious conflicts of interest.

Why two scientists are sounding the alarm about the WHO’s COVID-19 investigative team.
NRPLUS MEMBER ARTICLE
When a company accused of wrongdoing announces that it will conduct an “internal investigation,” the interested public is rightly skeptical. Everyone knows the drill: Asses will be covered and maybe, if the top executives are really feeling the heat, they will offer a sacrificial lamb in the form of a middle manager.
Hiding behind the imprimatur of the WHO, China is, in effect, conducting an internal investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic with the assistance of Peter Daszak, the only American that Beijing allowed to join the WHO team.
That’s right, allowed: According to the Wall Street Journal, the WHO gave Beijing veto power over which American scientists would be appointed to the team tasked with producing a joint report with Chinese scientists on the origins of the virus. Beijing vetoed all three scientists nominated by the U.S. but didn’t object to Daszak, who applied separately.
EXCLUSIVE: WHO Investigator Peter Daszak Authored Over 20 CCP-Funded, Linked Studies.
https://thenationalpulse.com/news/whos-peter-daszak-authored-ccp-studies/
World Health Organization COVID-19 investigator Peter Daszak has worked on over 20 research endeavors that list “affiliations” with Chinese Communist Party-linked entities, including studies funded by the Chinese government and co-authored by military-linked researchers, The National Pulse can exclusively reveal.
Daszak appears as an author on at least 25 studies “affiliated” with a funding entity or author linked to a Chinese Communist Party think tank, university, or government ministry.
Studies authored by Daszak focusing on mammal viromes, cross-species transmission of bat coronaviruses, and RNA viromes count funding from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Both entities are controlled and funded by the Chinese Communist Party, with the Chinese Academy of Sciences describing itself as the “linchpin of China’s drive to explore and harness high technology and the natural sciences for the benefit of China and the world.”
Another study authored by Daszak – “Fatal swine acute diarrhoea syndrome caused by an HKU2-related coronavirus of bat origin” – relied on funding from the National Key Research and Development Program of China, which functions as part of the Chinese Communist Party’s five-year plans, along with funding from the State Key Laboratory of Pathogen and Biosecurity.
Similarly, Daszak’s studies focusing on the ACE2 receptor in SARS-like coronavirus, panda parasites, Filoviruses, and the Fugong virus count funding from the Chinese Communist Party’s State Key Research Program and its Ministry of Science and Technology.
Another Ministry of Science and Technology-funded study focusing on the gene pool of bat SARS-related coronaviruses authored by Daszak used grants from the Chinese Academy of Science’s Hundred Talents Program.
The Hundred Talents Program “is a major project in the Chinese Academy of Science in terms of recruiting outstanding talents overseas,” a summary notes.
The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC) has also funded Daszak’s studies on Bat Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome and novel astroviruses from small mammals in China, and Serological Evidence of Bat SARS-Related Coronavirus.
The NNSFC “implements works entrusted by the State Council and relevant governmental administrations,” lists itself as a state-owned institution formed “under the loving care of comrade Deng Xiaoping.” The NNSFC also describes itself as “guided by President Xi Jinping’s Socialist Thoughts with Chinese Characteristics for the new era, earnestly implementing the spirit of the Party’s 19th National Congress.”
Bought and Paid For.
In addition to studies funded by Chinese Communist Party-linked entities, Daszak has also co-authored studies alongside researchers and academics from state-run think tanks and universities.
One study – “Joint China-US Call for Employing a Transdisciplinary Approach to Emerging Infectious Diseases” – lists “affiliation” with researchers from seven China-based, state-run institutes including Second Military Medical University and Academy of Military Medical Sciences. Both schools fall under the jurisdiction of the People’s Liberation Army.
Daszak’s studies focusing on wildlife contact in China have collaborated with the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and his studies focusing on wetlands, bat coronavirus spillover, novel bat coronavirus, H9N2 influenza viruses, and the Fugong virus have been co-authored with researchers from China’s state-funded laboratories.
Six additional studies listing Daszak as an author, which focus on zoonotic viruses, rural communities in southern China, natural reservoirs of SARS-like coronaviruses, coronavirus hosts, paramyxovirus, and Black Death, were written alongside researchers from state-run think tanks and universities including the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The global media has unquestioningly hosted Daszak, his Chinese Communist-aligned talking points, and failed to inform viewers and readers of his multiple conflicts of interest. Daszak has donated to Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton, and blasted critics of the Chinese Communist Party.
