Good commentary.
As much as I hate to admit it, I do know many on the right who often times put more faith in great leaders than they do in God. Or at least it seems as though they do.
I was chastised, even by some on this forum for wondering early during the 2000 election why so many would trust a former drunk who’s father sold us out to Clinton. Yet many elevated him to a godly status, especially after 9/11. Which after wards I actually thought I was proved wrong on his character, but never elevated him. As time went on, I and many who agreed with me earlier were proven correct.
Like his father, he was good at using the military, but like his father he gave the Democrats almost everything they demanded, short of a tax increase. Now we see he is on full board in the destruction of the nation by backing Biden.
When we put our faith in a man, we will be disappointed. I also think Trump was and still is a great leader, I never elevated him to a status above the one he deserved, and I never saw Trump himself doing so. He always gave credit to God, even if He liked to brag a bit about God using him. I’ll give him that.
However, I know many who did elevate him.
I hated what HW Bush did, or rather didn't do, when the college students rose up in 1989 in Tiananmen Square. They built a replica of the Statue of Liberty and peacefully demonstrated for their human rights. Not a word of support from HW the whole time. Eventually the Chinese came in with tanks and mowed them down. Still, from HW Bush, only silence. That my friend is pure evil.
