Those two images and video make my point.

The dark grey mic is off to Biden’s left. The light grey mic is off to Biden’s right. Once you understand this everything makes sense.

They’re further from him than you think because you’re getting faked out by the depth ambiguity that you get with a single camera. It’s why God gave us stereo vision: so we can judge depth better. Otherwise we make mistakes like you’re making and which I initially made too when I first saw the videos.

A simple rotation of the two pictures to a VERTICLE view will illustrate quite well where the dark mike was located, assuming that light still travels in a straight line.
