I can’t find the MacGuffin here...
Gaslight was better than a Hitchcock! I’m sure I’ve seen it over a dozen times. Can’t say as much for anything Hitchcock directed.
FYI, the British Version (1940) is very good as well and has the added bonus of being available for viewing on YouTube in its entirety. Every seld-respecting adult should have this film, as well as Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984 and allegorical novel Animal Farm under their belt by now.
It’s a 3 way tie between The Birds, Psycho and Lifeboat.
Lifeboat was produced in 1944, based on a John Steinbeck novella. War/Drama
American and British citizens who survived the sinking of their ship by a German submarine struggle to reach land in a very small and very crowded boat.
Tallulah Bankhead was in the cast.
