Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that he is deploying National Guard troops to the southern border to address what he calls a “crisis.”
Abbott (R) announced Operation Lone Star over the weekend to address the smuggling of people and drugs into the state, something he blames on the current administration.
“The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration,” he said.
“Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans,” added Abbott.
The governor warned that he would “surge” resources and law enforcement in an effort to combat the crisis at the border.

The way things generally work in governments is, the governor submits a budget. The legislature approves the budget, after adding all sorts of pork, and then, the following year, the governor and whoever else gets to spend the allocated money. There is rarely or ever any money of significance that can be spent ad hoc. If there was, chances on it would be spent early on the government equivalent of cotton candy and/or hookers.
Also, if the states attempt to finish the wall they are likely to find themselves tied up in court by EPA rulings and interference from a half dozen other agencies. And, you might say, well THIS is important. But the other voices will yell, “Well, what about climate change?! We’re all gonna die in (calculatecalculatecalculate) nine point two seven years!!!” And, while you may consider that so much balderdash, those people will tie you up until Hell freezes or they get whatever they want so they stop holding you up. That’s the way our system works. Now, the president has the power to step in and stop this, but the present president probably doesn’t know it’s happening, and if you told him he’d ask what pudding is for dinner.
And what exactly are they going to do? Will they be shooting anyone who doesn’t turn back, or will they be providing concierge service while escorting them to the detention center?

He’ll just disavow Wilmington and relocate back to Scraton..Home town and all.
Abbott will need to be prepared to stop the Biden functionaries from sending the illegals into the interior or it won’t matter.

TX is on the verge of secession. What does the constitution say about border s and a federal government that fails to do its duty to protect the States. If this continues, the states have the right to dissolve these chains of abuses and start a new government.
Border policy is in the federal purview. But Texas should declare itself a sanctuary state for sane border policy and ignore the federal policy.

It looks like the concept of “federalism” is a failure. When founded, the United States was to be a federation of states, with a small federal government in charge of the borders, defense, interstate commerce, and issuing a currency. The federal government has become all powerful and is weakening the various states.
The left has set Texas as a target. The goal is to flood it with non-working, dependent people who will all vote illegally democrat. What will happen when there are more indolents than productive people remains to be seen. One can only wonder where the money will come from to support the dependent hordes.
