Yes, bitch, that has to do with the fact that there never was anything wrong with his taxes. A**hole. Partisan Media Shill ping.
Of course, with the visibility and the huge income, he was audited regularly and could not afford any cheating.
They knew it from the beginning. All that buzz was just part of “get Trump” political game. They could suggest that he is cheating, the same way they suggested the Russian collusion.
Moreover, they hoped to find some embarrassing, but not illegal facts. Like making too much or too little money, some aggressive deduction, deducting used underwear (Clinton did that), or not paying “enough” taxes. Obviously they will comb through it with fine comb, but all they could find is maybe something like that.
I was actually kind of flabbergasted why Trump refused the release. He could find a good time and release them - see nothing is here - and shut them up.

In all probability, the thugs in the Mueller gang have looked over all of President Trump’s tax returns. If there were any “gotcha” in them, it would have been leaked before now.
I predicted this long ago.
When Trump was campaigning, the new york slimes sent 20 people out to dig up anything negative they could use to trash Trump’s reputation.
I noticed two distinct items they did not come up with.
1. Crooked business deals. Not even enough to hint at one. This was the main thing they wanted. Hit him with “he’s a crook” all over their front page, he’s toast. Never happened.
2. Not one disgruntled employee with a horror story about what a bastard he is to work for. Couldn’t even find someone fired for good reason with a flimsy story. That might leave a mark too, but they never found a thing.
And the idiots in DC think his tax returns will show something the nyt couldn’t find with 20 people scouring his past??? As others have pointed out, the IRS has been through them with a fine tooth comb for years, and would have certainly leaked any bad news long ago. Like 5 years ago, while he was still a civilian.

They just want to be able to SCREAM how little Trump has paid in taxes, BUT they won’t show how little Bezos, Pelosi, Zuckerburg, Dorsey, Bloomberg, Soros, ect. have paid ONLY Trump matters!!!

I would be very surprised if James finds anything amiss in Trump’s tax returns. This is the same man who has been investigated, spied upon, & lied about, yet they haven’t found anything illegal. No doubt Obama’s IRS has been trying to nail him since 2015.
A lot of people miss this one detail...he’s potentially audited yearly by both the IRS and the NY state tax apparatus. Either of them could make a massive case from any point over the past fifty years of his returns....they’ve never done so.
Now, what I do believe will come out of the current episode...they are going to look at loans mentioned in the papers and ask how he got such great interest rates, and want him to testify on values given for collateral property. If they had any case...it would involve the loans and the value he says of his hotel properties.
Notice the bias even though this is a column re the use of the word “accountability”. If Trump/organization didn’t do anything wrong re his tax/property valuations, then there is nothing for him to subject to “accountability”.
Ms. Levinson showed her anti-Trump bias early. However, I hope her premonitions about this being another “Nothingburger (aka Crapburger)” turn out to be true.
Getting B*tchslapped by your own bias is “revenge served with a strong forehand” and well deserved.

They have no case if this is what they are counting on. Borrowers are free to value their collateral using any number of different ways and the lenders responsibility is to confirm valuation using their own appraiser.
The moment anyone considers running for president—they have to know their financial house has to be in order. Likely Trump had been thinking about running for president since at least 2000—but probably more like 1990.
