The latest Word update killed auto save. Now, I am supposed to log onto the cloud. I haven’t done it as I presume there are costs. So far, I am just saving several times while working.

Still there on my Word 2013, but it wants to install an update. Based on your post, I think I’ll give that a pass.
By the way - have you considered upgrading to LibreOffice? It seems to have mail merge wizard.

My Mail Merge in Office 2003 (Word/Excel) is still alive and well. I didn’t know Mail Merge was a function in Windows — thought it was just in an Office Suite.

I just had to install Office 2016 to my computers. They are windows 7 machines. Mostly it was the Outlook mail file getting too large for the previous version I had. I went with 2016 as it’s the last install version (non-cloud, non-”subscription”) that will run on Win 7.
I specifically read that it has Mail Merge with Word enabled. Got them cheap from a legit reseller that emails you the license key, and you download from Microsoft.

LibreOffice seems to be perfectly compatible with all of my workplace documents.
No issues at all, and it's free to download.

“Now, I am supposed to log onto the cloud.”The cloud is a system designed so that you don’t know what’s there, but Microsoft does.

There is no cloud... Ain't it the truth. I have to keep telling people. What a scam.
They say: "I don't want my data sitting in some datacenter somewhere -- I put it UP IN THE CLOUD!"
Hope it don't rain.

MS Office 10 ?? Extended support for Office 10 a.k.a. "Office XP" terminated in July 2011.
Granted, I used my copy until around 2015. But geez, it's amazing you get updates at all....

I really hope you aren’t referring to a 10+ year old version of Office.

ShadowAce I have been using LibreOffice now for about 2 years. The only issue I have is the huge incompatibility when sharing exported MS Word docs with figures. The corruption can set you back many hours.

I have updates to MicroThief Office stopped. Have had for quite some time now. Every succeeding update/upgrade to Office breaks something that doesn’t need to be fixed.

I have a fully updated Office 2019, and I just checked, the Mailings and Mail Merge are still there.
