Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) said Tuesday on CNN’s “Tonight” that the Republican Party was engaged in “a war on black people as it relates to voting.”
Anchor Don Lemon said, “The Supreme Court is hearing arguments today that could weaken voting rights in Arizona. Major push nationwide to make it harder for people to vote. What does this mean particularly for black voters?”
Jackson Lee said, “Well, I think tragically we have not had this historic opposition to our rights since slavery, during the Jim Crow days and of course the harshness of the 1960s. The tragedy of this is an entire party, the Republican Party, is committed to voter suppression, committed to avoiding the opportunity of votes. Donald Trump laid out he only wants one day for votes. They don’t want opportunities for absentee ballot, extended voting, same-day registration, all things that empower young people and people of color, African-Americans.”
She continued, “This is a war on black people as it relates to voting. Unfortunately, it seems to Supreme Court is going to participate with this seemingly intended decision to narrow the only remaining aspect of the Voting Right Act, Section 2, which we are trying to fix with the John Robert Lewis legislation in HR4. This is a fight for democracy, a fight for justice, and an opportunity or a desire or a need to restore the voting rights to people of color and particularly black people. We will not allow this to happen under the Biden administration and the Democratic House and Senate. It’s tragic that Republicans want to take that stand because they can’t win fairly. They can’t draw people to their positions. They are now trying to suppress the votes.”

Well, if they did, they are sure lousy at war.
Not one dead, not one injured.
Lee is engaged in a war against white people. She is a racist.
In the battle for hearts and minds, Sheila Jackson Lee lacks standing. You have to have one or the other before you can engage accordingly.
It is not possible to negotiate or debate with people whose opening gambit is slander.
"I am oppressed and YOU are the oppressor."
This is her song (think "birdsong") which calls to her oppressed sisters and brother.
I object to fake or dead people voting. Is that bad?
These parasites are hell bent on destroying black people and dividing the country. This will come to no good end for anyone.
It’s bad if they had black skin.
We only discriminate against one color of voter. Transparent. We aren’t tolerant of made up people voting. Call us racist.
Democrats have been engaged in a war on black people for a long, long time from violent suppression tactics by the KKK to welfare states keeping blacks in broken families and illiterate and abortion on demand.
Actually, there is a war on crackas. And General Lee is one of those leading the charge.
& stop calling me Shirley! ;-)
Does the sulfer-smelling racist bitch still think we landed on Mars?
The black people should be upset, that some vote harvester is voting for them.
As a matter of fact, one of the standard tool of vote harvesting is discarding any vote “against”. They had community meetings to “help” people vote, instructed them how to fill “Democrat” in and then checked the ballots and discarded those who were nonconforming!
Is this how to empower black people?
Shirley?
This kind of rhetoric is going to increase the black on white crime in a lot of big cities.
She la could crank those windmills up if she used both arms.
Judiciary Democrat Cong S/J/Lee (D-Texas) urged Stanford Law School Professor Pamela S Karlan to comment
as S/J/L ignorantly drew a parallel between then-Pres Trump and a monarch.
S/J/L" “What comparisons can we make between kings, that the framers were afraid of, and the president’s conduct today?” she calculatedly asked Stanford Law School Professor Pamela S Karlan, who was called to testify as a (cough) constitutional law expert.
Stanford Law School Professor Pamela S Karlan continued the ignorance----replying “Kings could do no wrong because the king’s word was law, but contrary to what Pres Trump says, Article II does not give him the power to do anything he wants,” Karlan said. “The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility,......the ignoramus stated....referring to Trump's son Barron,...." he cannot make him a baron,” the dippy professor continued.
REALITY CHECK The Yale and Stanford types had no clue that Barron Trump's name has NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH NOBILITY.
Barron Trump is named after Barron Hilton, of Hilton Hotel fame, a close friend of Pres Trump. The name Barron originated from the Old French and was often used as a nickname for a peasant who aspired to land ownership.
=================================
It is laughable that Yalie Cong S/J/L and Stanford Law School Professor Pamela S Karlan think Trump aspired to royalty and named his son Barron as an expression of that.
Shockingly, Karlan has been on the Stanford Law School faculty since 1998, is an "expert" on constitutional law and the Supreme Court, and has argued nine cases before the Supreme Court.
I would strongly suggest Stanford Law School students drop classes taught by Prof Karlan lest the future lawyers jeopardize legal careers by an unfortunate exposure to classes taught by a clearly unqualified Prof Karlan.
