No matter what amount they decide to pay out, it will be immediately denounced as not enough.

If anyone should pay “reparations” to Black people it’s the left-wing DEMOCRATS. Because they are the ones who continue to keep Black people down with their many give-away government programs, which, in many cases, only suppress motivation for moving forward.
Then what?

Trump already provided federal funding for HBCUs triple that of what Obama did before Obama penciled it out entirely shortly before leaving office.

About two weeks ago, Free Republic has a discussion thread concerning an article about a Harvard health sciences study claiming COVID-19 would have had less of an impact on blacks if they were paid $250k each on reparations. Here’s a link to the article:

At the time, I did a quick “back of the envelope” calculation and posted the following comment to gram the issue economically:
“Using a rounded “Black Only” (i.e., racially 100% black; excludes mixed race) population of 44 million and a payout amount of $250 k/person, the amount to implement the doctors’ proposal is $11 trillion, about half the annual GDP of the United States.
The amount required would be less if the payout is capped at $850k per household which is equal to 3.4 persons.
The amount required goes up if the 4 million plus Americans claiming partial black ancestry are included.
To benchmark the amount, $250k is the equivalent of about 4.8 years of the average annual full time salary.”
What the “senior Biden administration advisor” is talking about is far less than the Harvard grad student payout. It would be more difficult to administer and have a myriad of details to work out before even commencing such a program regardless of its merits or efficacy.
Three things to note: 1) No mention of direct, in-hand cash payouts (yet), 2) The stated intention to implement the program by Presidential fiat and without Congressional legislation, and finally, 3) No discussion of funding sources (let alone tax increases).
The Democrat control of Congress is already paper thin. Just how many seats do they think checking the box on this wish list item is going to cost them in the mid-terms and beyond?
