The idea that focusing on getting the “right answer” is now considered among some self-described progressives a form of bias or racism is offensive and extraordinarily dangerous. The entire study of mathematics is based on clearly formulated definitions and statements of fact. If this were not so, bridges would collapse, planes would fall from the sky, and bank transactions would be impossible.
Who buys into this crap? Clearly not people who still have at least one neuron still firing.

Well, they have to find some excuse for the disparity in results on math tests.
The easiest thing to do is revise the way results are measured or abolish the test altogether.
How about educators and politicians doing their jobs to find some ways of bringing students up to a set standard? Much easier to blame racism.
Remember those funny worded ‘3rd grade math in the hood’ ‘tests’ from about 25 to 30 years ago that were going around?

The problem of poor education isn’t necessarily new—the ATTACK of education in MATH is.
I wonder how many freepers have actually studied mathematics..beyond just an entry level perusal.

I was unable to klep 1-200 level college math and had to take 3 hours of finite mathematics 101 which was high school algebra on steroids and calculus 102
It was a struggle on par with statistics or spanish lit 400 level where English is forbidden and you read Cervantes or Marquez all semester And must be able every class to discuss it like you are fluent and have read the 100 pages per class or organic chemistry or applied Physics where you learn things like Strange or Chaotic Attractors
