What is a Presidential President? How do we define “presidential”.

Food for thought.

"Donald Trump was a bull in a china shop of a President."

I've been tempted to use that analogy, but "china shop" - with its suggestions of finery and delicacy - doesn't fit the reality of DC. Trump put it better: the swamp.

President Donald John Trump, the greatest President in recent memory, was exactly who and what we wanted him to be and we were privileged that he gave up a life of luxury and content to serve and work so hard for us. God bless him and all his own.

If I was advising the President I would have suggested that he state certain things a bit differently. For example...instead of "crooked Hillary" I would have suggested "unidicted Hillary" and for Plugs I would have suggested "fifty percent Joe"...and maybe one or two others names.

Trump was certainly an imperfect President but he's clearly tied with Reagan as the best President of my lifetime (which started with Truman).

For 30 years the Uniparty has been keeping the borders open and the laws unenforced to flood the country with foreigners in order to steal the country from the citizens.

President Trump was the President we needed to stop that.

That’s why BOTH parties cooperated to cheat him pout of office.

never really cared that he wasn’t presidential. I only cared that he did or attempted to (while fighting the entire establishment on both sides) do what we elected him to.

I'm reminded of Jesus against the Temple money changers, overturning their tables and driving them out.
As he cleansed the Temple of greed and profit, Jesus quoted from Isaiah 56:7: "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers." (Matthew 21:13, ESV)

Didn’t they say the same sorts of things about both Nixon and Reagan when they were in office?

Trump set the table for his heir apparent, and that is the most important thing, the movement must survive beyond Trump, and I believe Ron DeSantis is that heir apparent.

If they could all be like DJT then we’d have a whole better definition of ‘Presidential’.

350 Million Americans... we can do better than Donald Trump. I voted for him twice, but when there is a primary next time, I will support anyone over Trump (well not a Kasich type).

In the article there is this quote... “I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: Oh Lord, make my enemies ridiculous. And God granted it.”

Sorry Trump worshipers, Trump was ridiculous. I don’t hear about many of you ingesting Lysol to cure the virus. He said 10 stupid things a day. We can do so much better and we have to.

In your wettest dream you pray that you were a thousandth of a man that President Trump was. You would not make a pimple on his ass. You are eaten alive with jealousy and envy of him. Posting rules eliminate any further elaboration and description of you./p>

Presidential was defined in Federalist Paper No 70 as "energy" contrasted with a "feeble" government like we have had under Bushes, Clinton, Obama and - good grief - Biden. Energy in the Executive is a leading character in the definition of good government. It is essential to the protection of the community against foreign attacks; it is not less essential to the steady administration of the laws; to the protection of property against those irregular and high-handed combinations which sometimes interrupt the ordinary course of justice; to the security of liberty against the enterprises and assaults of ambition, of faction, and of anarchy. Every man the least conversant in Roman story, knows how often that republic was obliged to take refuge in the absolute power of a single man, under the formidable title of Dictator, as well against the intrigues of ambitious individuals who aspired to the tyranny, and the seditions of whole classes of the community whose conduct threatened the existence of all government, as against the invasions of external enemies who menaced the conquest and destruction of Rome.

There can be no need, however, to multiply arguments or examples on this head. A feeble Executive implies a feeble execution of the government. A feeble execution is but another phrase for a bad execution; and a government ill executed, whatever it may be in theory, must be, in practice, a bad government.

Taking it for granted, therefore, that all men of sense will agree in the necessity of an energetic Executive, it will only remain to inquire, what are the ingredients which constitute this energy? How far can they be combined with those other ingredients which constitute safety in the republican sense? And how far does this combination characterize the plan which has been reported by the convention?

The ingredients which constitute energy in the Executive are, first, unity; secondly, duration; thirdly, an adequate provision for its support; fourthly, competent powers.
