White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday said coal and natural gas – NOT frozen wind turbines – caused the power grid failure in this week’s Texas cold snap.
Texas got hit with a rare cold snap that spanned to the southern part of the state and the power grids gave out.
.... Snip....
Millions of Texans suffered blackouts partly due to the frozen wind turbines.
Psaki said reports suggesting renewables caused the power grid failure in Texas are inaccurate, rather it was renewables that came in to save the day.
“Numerous reports show that it was failure in coal and natural gas that contributed to the state’s power shortages,” Psaki said.

Texas needs to go nuclear, like Arizona did with Palo Verde (who sells power to SoCal during the summer months)
Orange woman is a complete retard.
It’s the science man
28% is not that small.
No, coal was affected as well.
I've also read that some of the coal piles froze so the feeders didn't work.
They are insane!!!
To all..
I just asked the mods to pull my comment. It’s in poor taste.
I apologise.
You need to believe the Party instead of the faulty evidence you think you see.
Jen Psaki is Ministry of Truth - Minitru.
2+2=5
And sometimes 3.
It all depends on what the Party decides at the time.

Interesting. Can Texas buy electricity from other states?
From orbit?😁
If people are so stupid as to believe this crap then they deserve to freeze
She is lying.
...preach it Brother! Funded by Gates, NPR, Mitchel Fdn, and a long list of LEFT Wing money sources. But I’m suuuuure they are right down the middle with their assessments / S
Good find. Once again the truth lies somewhere in between what we’re told and what we can see with our own eyes.
I found this at ERCOT: “Extreme weather conditions caused many generating units – across fuel types – to trip offline and become unavailable.”

So the weather exceeds the design limits of the infrastructure resulting in wide area outages. Psaki was wrong to cast selective blame when the truth would have served her better.

It was a failure across the board. Even a nuke plant went down because of water issues. Gas production tanked. And Texas got rid of a lot of coal baseline power that could have propped up the grid.
All I can think of when I see or hear her name is she’s drinking too much sake’.......
How many of us could go in front of ANYONE and lie with a straight face like she does for a paycheck? Wasn’t it that “thorn in the side” (Jim what’s his name) of OUR PRESIDENT who said they wouldn’t get lies any more from press briefings? Guess he’s happy...
Prepare to flame away.
I worked in a coal-fired power plant for 40 years. My company has a huge presence in Texas. When I heard about the mayhem in Texas Monday when the fossil plants were tripping, I knew what the problem was.
In fossil plants there are probably a couple of miles of cooling water lines. Every year in the fall, there were always repairs we had to make to those water lines, and we did those repairs before cold weather came; insulation and heat trace, mostly. Turns out I was right.
Now, perhaps those plant operators weren’t aware they had a problem. When was the last time a cooling line froze and busted, especially in south Texas?
Yeah, Jen Psaki is a execrable, low-iq, lying piece of schiff, but in this case, there was some truth in her statement. Rare, yes.
I just don’t know why the cooling
The woman makes Baghdad Bob look credible.
She lies a lot. ERCOT numbers show clearly, that there was no failure of Natural gas. Or coal. There was a problem suddenly ramping up Natural gas generation up to speed to compensate for the failure of wind and solar. That’s all.
