Greg Patton is a professor of clinical business communication at the University of Southern California. During a recent virtual classroom session, he was discussing public speaking patterns and the filler words that people use to space out their ideas: um, er, etc. Patton mentioned that the Chinese often use a word that is pronounced like nega.

You know, since this is your own blog, you don’t have to chop it off after just one sentence, right?
how about the guy who was fired for saying “niggardly”.
OMG !
My wife is Chinese and uses that word a LOT when she is talking to her sister in China on the phone. I have always told her to be careful when speaking Chinese in public just because of that word.
Nega = “that one”
.
Oh I remember that guy. New Jersey. Justice doesn’t exist there.
Also, someone better tell actor Ruth Nega that she’s no longer welcomed. Hate has no home here, Ruth.
he was fired when they thought he was straight. But he was gay so they just transferred him.

About 20 years ago a couple of my boys had a middle-school geography unit on Africa. I reminded them to be careful of their spelling when discussing the river and country of Niger. We had a laugh over that.
I think this was about the time some ignorant racists (or anti-racist, as they would style themselves) made a fuss over someone using the word “niggardly” (which means cheap, miserly) in proper context.
Several years ago I was walking with my wife and her family. My wife was saying in Mandarin something like “no no daddy you take that one , daddy take highway880, that one , daddy highway 880.
In Mandarin, 8 is ‘ bah’. Daddy is ‘bahbah’. ‘that one’s is ‘nigah’.
So it sounded like ‘ching ching chong chong bah bah bah bah nigger ching ching chong Chiang bahhh bahh nigger nigger bah bah’
They happened to be walking past a group of black people at the time.
There could have been real trouble, and my wife’s family was completely oblivious.
Shouldn’t that Media-Dem Party senator named Coons be required to change his name?
Insanity is live, well and prospering in our institutes of “higher learning”
My wife was just staring at me, wondering why I was choking on my pancakes, laughing! OMG!
“Nega Nega Nega Nega Nega Nega Nega ...”

“I don’t make the stereotypes...I just see them”!!!!
LMAO!
New Jersey, back in the 60s, had the same problem with Route 69. It is now 31.
Dead Honkey !!!!
Better not say “bitter” excitedly in Japanese ever again
Academics are often the most narrow-minded, reactionary and stupid people you will ever meet
Its a paradox, but the times give it proof.
