I have been literally screaming at people to “Read his books”! Most of his life I had seen Trump rarely because I was too busy to watch Oprra or read “entertainment publications. So when he announced his intension to run for president, the first thing I did was get his book “The Art of the Deal”. It was sort of his life story and I found it very American.
I’m a reader and always look behind the words. I was actually amazed at the man behind the deals and knew he would make a great president. His love of country is real. He is misunderstood and so comes across as narcissistic trying to be understood. He has to get attention in order to do the things he wants to do.
He is religious. Any kid who goes through Comfirmation in a Presbyterian church is not ignorant about the Bible, believe me. His pastor was Norman Vincent Peal (Power of Positive Thinking). He does have a moral compass within, and a weakness toward women (what man doesn’t?). I think the one line in his book in context was his story about some project he was thinking of joining with another builder. The other man laid out his plans and Trump looked them over and found something in it was concerned about it, so he declined to go in with the project. His reason, he said, was, “it would not have been the moral thing to do.”
I’ve never forgotten that line in the context. It defined his character for me. I loved his book and have another one of his that I haven’t read yet.
Also read the Art of War. He was first introduced to the book as a young man in military school . Reading it will explain many of his acts and reactions
Thank you Nan.
