The President and his team were beaten by ,a ruthless Deep State. Trump managed to get around the 24 year duopoly over the White House by his populist message in 2016. Thereafter, the MSM engaged in a 24-7-365 campaign against him, far more intense than against Joseph McCarthy, Goldwater, Reagan, etc. Trump had less power than any President since Hoover due to the intransigence of the bureaucracy, even less than Hoover as he was prevented from using the Army from crushing the June 2020 riots in DC, as Hoover did against the Bonus Army. His appointments had to be vetted by McConnell forcing Trump to accept Uniparty types like Bill Barr.
Despite all his limits and the silencing by social media of Trump and his allies, the Deep State wanted him out. So with the assistance of corrupt Democrats in urban counties in the swing states, they succeeded.
