The centerpiece of the sedition case is based on Trump repeating a “big lie” about a “stolen election” that was actually free and fair.
Inciting the Reichstag Riot “insurrection” based on his Jan 6 speech is already a dead letter.
IMHO, "actually" should be "allegedly", or at least in quotes like "big lie" and "stolen election". Since courts haven't heard any evidence, there's been no judgement that the election was free and fair. In a logical world, it can only be alleged. (I know, logic is white privilege, and cannot be tolerated).
Stolen or not, lie or not, issue is sedition - and Dems need only one patsy to testify under oath of being motivated to insurrection by his words.
Trump’s only defense is that the trial is unconstitutional - exemplified by Chief Justice refusing to participate in what would be his obligation if it were constitutional.
You can’t win vs a kangaroo court without invalidating its authority & outcome. Trump should be taking this to SCOTUS immediately.
