Again: Where Does DeSantis Get His Apology?

I wondered whether the media would turn on New York governor Andrew Cuomo, and they are. Today the New York Times has a brutal story on Cuomo’s handling of the pandemic, particularly its distribution of the vaccine.

In other news did you know the elections are over?

The left is a hierarchy of ideas.

To us they appear irrational, but if you understand the power pyramid of the left the irrational suddenly makes sense.

“Orange Man Bad” was at the top of their pyramid. The coverage of Cuomo can only be explained by the pyramid. Trump is now gone and the media is suddenly faced with the gross realities of New York and the mismanagement of the virus from start to finish by Cuomo. Numerous leftist members of his own administration have resigned recently.... why?

According to media in New York it was because they disagreed with the micromanagement and abrasive style of Cuomo so they resigned in protest. Why now and not many months ago when they had the same disagreement? The hierarchy of ideas.

What Cuomo did was indefensible. He has done massive damage to his state and now that Trump is falling down the hierarchy they suddenly begin to cover it and ask hard questions.

The leftist media types are sitting in the ashes of a once great city - NYC. Many of them blamed Trump when he was at the top of the pyramid, but sweep him aside and they are forced to face the reality of Cuomo and DeBlasio and the policies that wiped out their community, favorite restaurants, and forced many of their neighbors to flee the state.

New York is in really bad shape folks. The revenue vs expenditure numbers are brutal. The flight of taxpayers and wealth from the city is real. They are demanding a huge bailout from congress and while they have a sizeable contingent supporting it, there are many democrats who are balking at bailing them out so they do not have the votes. This is going to become a major sticking point in future legislation.

Cuomo served his purpose as a “foil” to Trump and the face of draconian lockdowns for political purposes. Many of us knew and said they would turn on him months ago and here we are. Those who served the “Orange Man Bad” purpose are now forced to face the consequences of their own actions. Whitmer, Newsome, and others are also suddenly exposed.

As a follow-on to my own comment above..... the leftist media is already targeting GOP stars. Look for more hit pieces on DeSantis, Noem, and others in the coming months because they are a legitimate threat to the hierarchy of the left.

The “outsider” contenders who did a good job in their states and with Covid are going to wear the targets now.

I live in FL and follow politics, and science intensely. Last June/July/August FL was being painted as the Typhoid Mary of states, and none of it was true, it was just the media taking instruction from the Democratic party, trying to tamp down Ron DeSantis - who looks like he will be a significant presidential candidate in 2024, IMHO. It was very strange to be here, aware of the conditions and daily case statistics, and to know what was happening here on the ground, and yet see this wildly exaggerated portrayal in the media. It just didn't square until you realized the media was carrying water for the DNC. They fear DeSantis in the long haul, and they should. He has done well here and continues to show decisive leadership in all areas. His 2018 campaign was mishandled, but he won't make that mistake again. The state delivered for Trump a 3.5% margin of victory. There was no controversy, no delay in reporting - I think the 100% results were in by 11:00 pm day of election - why? because they processed the early voting and mail in ballots each day of the early voting period. So, on election day you simply counted that day's in person voting and the mail in that arrived from he last day of early voting until the evening of the election day. Seems so simple, yet few states handled it that way, and we know the protracted counting leads to all sorts of shenanigans. Florida learned a painful lesson in 2000, and did a great job in 2020. DeSantis is running a very smooth ship here.
