Cultural Appropriation? Not a Problem.

It occurs to me that we may have to cancel Taco Tuesdays now that we have a “WOKE” administration. Let’s face it, culturally appropriated food was already in the crosshairs (can I say that, or will it register as “hate speech” on Facebook?) social justice warriors.

absolutely not2absolutely not

But now I think it might be punishable by law, Executive Order, or at least Facebook. So the question remains, can we honkies ever enjoy a tasty plate of tacos on the cheap again?

The Purbalite | These tacos aren't just for Tuesdays

I’ll bet Facebook is conflicted about this. I mean, I know that Marky Z likes cheap Mexican food.

I also know how much he likes having the power to influence elections in order to impact how the worm turns:

FB wants to “work ... with [Biden] on some of their top priorities” “Biden already issued a number of exec orders on areas that we as a company really care quite deeply about”

But I’m not sure how he feels about the whole cultural appropriation thing; he obviously opposes appropriation on a personal level, having issued a scary cease and desist letter to this little mom and pop taco shop for “appropriating” his world famous Facebook logo:

They named it Tacobook Taqueria and created a logo with a thumbs-up in the familiar Facebook style. The bustling business at 1130 Broadway near Everett Community College went from five tables to 10, serving authentic and affordable fare.

In April, the owners got a letter in the mail from a Beverly Hills law firm citing “unauthorized use of Facebook intellectual property.”

Maybe we can get Jen to circle back around on this question…index

but I hope it doesn’t take too long because man, I’m getting hungry. And it is Tuesday.

Footnotes:

Cultural Appropriation: “Taking intellectual property, traditional knowledge, cultural expressions, or artifacts from someone else’s culture without permission. This can include unauthorized use of another culture’s dance, dress, music, language, folklore, cuisine, traditional medicine, religious symbols, etc. It’s most likely to be harmful when the source community is a minority group that has been oppressed or exploited in other ways or when the object of appropriation is particularly sensitive, e.g. sacred objects.”

I’m Dutch, so I just want to go on record as specifically NOT condoning the eating Poffertjes Poffertjes

or raw marinated herring by POC ever again.

“Cultural Appropriation”, like ‘microaggression’ and a multitude of ‘au courant’ words and phrases are tools of the left, coined by them, very subjective and wielded almost exclusively, using a very flexible, if any, justification against against the LEFT’s ‘Class Enemy/Enemies’ de jour! There is never a mirror around when they hurl their epitaphs and there is never anyone to question their diatribes.

In this they are like children having a public tantrum, sound and fury but no logic! If not ably assisted by their coreligionists in the social Media, pop-culture, academia and other LEFTist dominated ‘influencers’, we could and should ignore them as the whiny brats that they demonstrate themselves to be.

However, logic like this has left the room several decades back!

“without permission. This can include unauthorized use”

For starters, anyone not white cannot use any of the things whites invented/innovated including frame houses and steel reinforced skyscrapers, never mind all the every-day things they take for granted now.

Cultural appropriation, which apparently is “bad”.

Who gets to give the permission? Once granted by a self appointed arbiter, can it be revoked by the next aggrieved person to come along? Obviously, and that’s the point.

‘Cultural appropriation’ is a joyful opportunity to run roughshod over the sensibilities of the ‘woke.’
Assuming there is something worth appropriating (and most cuisines will have SOMETHING worth appropriating...) this should be done as often and publicly as possible!

Doesn’t work that way. Whites are not allowed to preserve or even have a culture.
This is why I keep saying “Embrace ‘white supremacy,’ ‘white nationalism,’ and ‘white privilege.’”
Of course those things are mostly BS anyway, existing only in the minds of the woketards.

Having known several ethnic restaurant owners in my life, they are grateful when people of other races come in. They look at it as a business, not as a political statement. They also enjoy sharing their culture.

Include clean water and sewage treatment in that list.

See how long they last.

It is a reversion to tribal morality. That people in X tribe must use these words, eat these foods, and dress this way. And violations of social rules are a threat to the tribe’s safety akin to literal assault or murder.

That’s the same reasoning used by Islam to kill critics and apostates. Your public disbelief is equated to a literal attack on all believers.

Notice cultural appropriation only goes in one direction. Black women are never called out for straightening their hair.
