When Pence was Governor of Indiana he signed pro-Christian legislation and then repudiated it after liberals threw a fit. I never trusted him after that.

Pence wasn’t going to throw out or replace any electoral votes. He couldn’t. And if he did, there would have been riots that would make what did happen in the Capitol that day look like a Sunday picnic. The best that could have happened would have been presenting the case in Congress that there was fraud, but that didn’t happen because of the riot.

If it is true as Prof. John Eastman, one of the Trump attorneys, said of the WH meeting in which Pence's options were discussed, "unilateral authority to determine" was not on the table.
What was on the table, in light of the rapidly growing body of evidence together with requests from certain state legislators, was for the Pence to return the certificates to the various key states with statutory violations for verification.
If so, Pence's statement above provides yet another unattractive personal label to those in this thread.

Vice President Pence’s role was entirely to preside over the counting of the Electors. He had zero - zero - authority to do anything different that what he did. There were also no competing Electors present for him to make a ruling on from the Chair, but any ruling he made could have been appealed regardless.
