I have already seen a fake version of the new 20, featuring a gorilla.

Sure sure. I’m partial to Geronimo. He had some fight in him for sure and I’m seeing things from his point of view more and more lately.

That would look great on a modern $20 bill. Maybe it’s time to replace everyone on every bill and coin so Tubman can get a spot too.

Good choice Sequoya BUT we should stick to old Formula of Presidents or Founding Fathers. How about Thomas Paine for the $20 Bill? The Revolutionary Leader who was an atheist?
Or or John Tyler (who was driven out of the Whig Party) or Maybe President Polk? My favorite Teddy Roosevelt? If it Must be a woman—How about Elenore Roosevelt?—she was Gay, first UN ambassador, did all the leg work for FDR. If it must be a person of Color—how about Frederick Douglas? a great Black Republican. Or people of Literature like Edgar Allen Poe? He put America on the literary Map.

I could be wrong about this, but my understanding is that people killed by John Brown and his gang were NOT slave owners.

And not everyone killed by American soldiers during the Revolution was King George III. Were slaves obliged to only direct their rebellion at their actual owners?

What I'm getting at is that a lot of people wring their hands about slave rebellions but either forget that our country is founded on rebellion against oppression or just don't see a similarity between the two.

Jackson was president 184 years ago. Get over it.

I LIKE Andrew Jackson.
But I think the whole point is that ‘they’ want a non-white.
They settled on Harriet Tubman, who was a hero of the Underground Railroad, but turns out to have been a terrorist-wannabe who would have been at Harper’s Ferry with John Brown if she hadn’t been sick.
IMHO, Frederick Douglass should be disqualified for the same reason - he was an associate of John Brown, but chose not to participate in the Harper’s Ferry attack. However, it doesn’t mention him warning the authorities.
Which brings up something else - I always thought John Brown was a fringe lunatic, but he seems to been in communication with or even friends of some of the leading lights of Abolition. Sorta makes me go “Hmmmm...”
I find Sequoya wholly admirable for his invention of a written form of the Cherokee language, certainly more so than a terrorist wannabe like Harriet Tubman. He would certainly make a better face for the $20 than Tubman.

How?
Their loss lead inevitably to the current overwhelming, all-powerful, unlimited centralized state that we currently endure.

And only saved her relatives not runaway slaves.

But did board runaway slaves on their trip along the Underground Railroad.

She will be a good choice to be on the $20.
