A bit over 500 years ago (October 31, 1517), the Reformation (of the Catholic church) began when a simple monk named Martin Luther posted his “95 Theses” on the door of the Catholic church in Wittenberg, Germany. The basis for Luther’s protest was the purchase of “Indulgences”. If you were among the ruling elite, you could live whatever kind of decadent lifestyle you wished, but still buy your way into heaven by sending enough money to the ruling elites of the Church.
Of course, even the most ignorant peasants of the time knew you couldn’t really buy your way into heaven, but they dared not speak such treasonous thoughts. This goes to show that the bureaucratic Swamp is not a new feature of life, but rather it has existed through the history of bureaucracies, of any sort.
In today’s vernacular, support of abortion is the indulgence of the current era. Deep down, everyone knows that abortion kills the life of an innocent human. Many, if not most, of the elites of the Catholic Church know it, too. resident biden, and his cynical supporters among the Church’s elite simply get by with it. Where is today’s Martin Luther when we need him?
