Early in his administration, Trump set up a commission with the intent of cleaning up voter rolls in all states. Pence headed it. Most states weren’t interested in cleaning up their rolls. It folded in about six-months.
Trump knew what was in store. He gave a big job to Pence and it languished. Trump did what he knew and campaigned as no other sitting President ever had. It wasn’t enough to cover the fraud.
They had a filibuster proof Senate in Obama’s first two years, and a majority of the House. Nothing happened. Also, when Bush the younger wanted to extend the Clinton ban he had to back down under political pressure.
What other rights is he going to start charging Americans for*?
$250 for a free speech license to assure lawful use of first amendment privileges that were only ever intended to apply to the Democrat press but he has generously extended to the public? (revocable upon review of your postings by a Democrat commissar)
$50,000 a year religious institution license for official recognition of legitimate places of worship and exemption from laws that might apply to unregistered places of worship?
$2000 property protection fee to prevent unreasonable search and seizure (additional $1000 to avoid housing of soldiers on your property)?

I have many firearms. I am a shooter and enjoy shooting on my range on my property. I have never raised a rifle nor pistol in anger nor defense against a man nor woman. I would do such instantly if necessary.
I live in the countryside. Just leave us the hell alone. We know how to kill with efficiency. We would rather just fish and hunt. But we do know how to kill.

Always remember the past. Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines ordered gun registration in the early 1970s. The US press loved him!
Within two years he confiscated those guns. The US press said the US needed to do the same!
And not long after he seized dictatorial powers. The US press was “shocked” that they had not seen this coming!
Unconstitutional in several ways and they know it. Besides, csn you think of a less desirable, more dangerous job than to try to confiscate or steal an American citizen’s property - especially, for Heaven’s sake- his firearm ? Not many people are going to take jobs like that, they’d be safer testing the front bumper impact strength of Mack trucks at 50mph.
That and anyone that voted for it from any semi conservative state would be unemployed in the next Congressional election cycle.
That’s my take on it also.
If a major regulation to control and take away firearms takes place, it will prove a concerted effort is in place to take over the American Government. There is no other logic that can be applied to political events over the last two years.
I went fishing last week. My lake at the damn is about 200 feet deep. I caught no fish. But just damn my prop was rather dinged up by encounter with metallic objects. Explain the sales tax on firearms, ammunition, reloading tools and ingredients? Here in Communist occupied WA, we pay a special tax above and beyond the sales tax. Plus the waiting period, but no waiting period or ID needed to vote. Hell, we are trying to get it so we have No ID No Address voting, without a signature. Unlimited mail in balloting, with harvesting too.

A mandatory registration law is unenforceable.
“If we catch you with an AR-15 you’re going to jail” won’t cut it. Ask CT, MA, NY, NJ, or IL attorneys general about noncompliance with their existing laws.
“You are to go door to door and seize illegal weapons. Use of deadly force is authorized” won’t cut it, either.
