Problem is, in closed primary “red” states you have to be registered GOP in order to vote in the primary which is when, for all intents and purposes, state and local elections are determined.

The General is just for show.

If the Patriot Party comes to be I will become a member the day after the Pennsylvania Primary until the last day possible before the next Primary at which time I will temporarily revert to GOP—until the Patriot party gains sufficient strength as to have multiple candidates for a Primary.

Just being a realist...

I did it 4yrs ago, from “Conservative” to GOP, to vote in the Primary and back to Conservative, and back to GOP for the General. Worked just fine, but the local Board of Elections is probably getting tired of me, by now.
