They are trying to double the size of the pipeline going west to Vancouver. This benefits anyone buying oil on the Pacific Ocean.
It is not just the BNSF transporting this oil. The BNSF does not have trackage in Canada. The CN and CPRS railroads benefit even more.
There has been another proposed pipeline to go west to the Pacific ocean over the Rocky Mtns. This has run into opposition from the First Nation Peoples in BC. If this pipeline is built it would avoid the transloading problems in Vancouver.
