The former chief of U.S. Capitol Police says security officials at the House and Senate rebuffed his early requests to call in the National Guard ahead of a demonstration in support of President Trump that turned into a deadly attack on Congress.
Former chief Steven Sund — who resigned his post last week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for him to step down — made the assertions in an interview with The Washington Post published Sunday.
Sund contradicts claims made by officials after Wednesday’s assault on Capitol Hill. Sund’s superiors said previously that the National Guard and other additional security support could have been provided, but no one at the Capitol requested it.
Sund told the Post that House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was concerned with the “optics” of declaring an emergency ahead of the protests and rejected a National Guard presence. He says Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger recommended that he informally request the Guard to be ready in case it was needed to maintain security.
Like Sund, Irving and Stenger have also since resigned their posts.
Yet, so many questions surrounding the riots at the Capitol!
A video that was sent to us by one of our readers, raises suspicions that the Capitol police acted “slow” and could have prevented the breach if they called for support earlier.
In the video, we mentioned, you can see a Trump supporter yelling at the police for not calling for a backup.

Why the police didn’t call for backup earlier and why the national guard wasn’t there to increase the security, are questions that raise a lot of suspicion about who incited the riots.
“They” wanted it to happen. Not completely sure who all “they” are, but definitely those on the left and I suspect quite a few that claim to be on the right but actually aren’t. They were reveling in it.
And the media continues to spew their rhetoric about how amazingly horrible this whole situation was while not showing the true events that happened at the Capitol building. There’s so much video out there and the only clips that the MSM chooses to air and focus on are the ones where there was some pushing and shoving.
Once again the left proves that they like to cherry pick specific items, use specific words to form a narrative that fits their agenda, and omit any news that doesn’t support that narrative rather than actually reporting the news completely and giving people the most unbiased journalism possible.

‘they’ needed something to humiliate the greatest president this country has seen in centuries. Who, although defeated in what is the most questionable of elections, was expected to be a significant real-time political influence and kingmaker post-presidency.

Nancy Pelosi is implementing Big Brother’s orders even as we speak. Her rollout of speech codes, for example. She demands that the government eliminate any words that suggest the Oldspeak designations for gender. Next, the Democrats will be demanding that new dictionaries be published with only the acceptable words listed so that the Ministry of Truth can put anything written in the Oldspeak down the Memory Hole. She must be using 1984 as her model.
My employer has already instituted this kind of groupthink. I have to watch videos that describe examples of microaggressions. A cocked eyebrow or a grimace or a rolling of your eyes can qualify as a microaggression if some minority takes offense and accuses you of racist intentions. We are well down the road toward a totalitarian state. Winston in 1984 had to be very careful to guard his facial expressions lest Big Brother think he was contemplating resisting the Party.
The last time we had this kind of fascism was during the Woodrow Wilson administration which had secret police (your neighbors snitched on you for disloyalty), Palmer raids, eugenics with forced sterilization of supposedly inferior human beings, a government propaganda department, and the jailing of anyone who violated the Sedition Acts. Wilson and his cadre were Progressives. This is typical of all of them, no matter when they are in power.
