John Roberts will be the presiding judge at the impeachment trial. It will be interesting to see what he says if the Republicans ask him if impeachment of a former president is constitutional.
Shredded...
Schumer sets the rules and effectively controls who is called as a witness. There will be no witnesses for election fraud as Trump is not charged with election fraud. Nancy knows this and she’s counting on Schumer to put on a circus. If Republican voters had showed up in GA, we could at least limit Schumer to a One Ring Show.

There you go. Happy now?

I live in Minneapolis and I can answer No, I’m not happy
now. I can only imagine how not happy you are in NYC.
BTW do you know Matthew or Marianne Cummings? They live
in NYC. (I always ask that.
What, you have 8 million people in the city? It’s not like Dana Kicker from Montgomery, MN who pitched a few seasons for Boston)
That would make them look guilty. But I guess they could say it’s a accident and someone falls in the sword. Need a scapegoat.
Adam Kinzinger of Illinois
John Katko of New York
Liz Cheney of Wyoming
Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington
Fred Upton of Michigan
Dan Newhouse of Washington
Herrera Beutler of Washington
Tom Rice of South Carolina
David Valadao of California
Peter Meijer of Michigan
I’ve seen articles that the ballots were shredded already. In today’s environment, no way to check. I suspect this one might be true.
It wouldn’t have mattered how many Repubs showed up in Ga. The Dems and Dominion would have just printed/flipped more votes till they got what they needed.
That should open a investigation by the FBI. Lol.
LOL - that’s who supposedly did the shredding.
>I thought Derschowitz said you could not have such a trial after the man leaves office.
You can’t. The action of impeachment is to remove someone from office.
If the person isn’t in office, the impeachment is meaningless.
Lmao.. And Barr was driving the mobile shredding truck.
You need to read the constitution again it specificity states that the person can be barred from ever holding public office again as part of the penalty phase after 67 convict. That’s the end goal here. The Senate trial is just that a criminal trial there is no time limit to have it as the alleged crime was committed while the person was in office and that instance is what is on trial it matters not one bit that the person is no longer in office. The penalty is disbarment to ever hold office again that’s the end game.
Don’t think one can be impeached after they leave office. Seem to recall Richard Nixon was going to be impeached but the process stopped when he resigned.

You mean Spurtwell?
That would be illegal. Ballots are supposed to be preserved for 2 years!
I am not sure what kind of ballots (if any) were shredded, but if the real (voted) ballots were shredded that should send somebody to jail!
He alone doesn’t get to decide. The whole court does.
5-4 there’s no impeachment trial for an out of office official. Impeachment is Constitutionally about REMOVAL from office.
How will Schumer be in charge? 48 demo and one indecent vs 50 republican. Do not forget Harris will no longer be a Senator as of noon on the 20th.
Where the Hell do you get that?
Read the Constitution AGAIN. It specifies Impeachment as the first step in removal from office. It even addresses the fact that OTHER means (indictment, trial, conviction in a federal court--not the Senate) for officials AFTER they leave office.
This was Dershowitz's whole appearance on the issue yesterday.
