That’s what I was trying to say...sorry about the mix up. Who was around and who wasn’t...? That tells the whole tale. And I never forgot about the news of high ranking Saudi folks being spirited out of the country quietly.

lackies have been doing bad stuff for a while. Yet I think there are other forces that hide behind the Republican/Democrat dialectic that are at work but they like to hide the in the anonymity of charitable works organizations whose memberships span Dems/Pubs/religions/politicians/trades/businesses “all of whom show good character and a willingness to serve in a tolerant brotherhood/sarc” and are spread thru-out governments and businesses churches and synagogues. I’ve tangled with a few of them on freeperville recently. I’ve suggested that if they are benevolent as they claim then they should have expelled ranking democrats from their memberships(who are not good people of character) and used there considerable widespread influence to put a stop to the madness in DC. I got the usual phlegmatic blah blah about what the service is about and that I was mistaken ect. response, though one freeper got hostile with me until I posed the question...why let obviously evil Democrats into their ranks....no answer and I decided to quit the thread after telling some self admitted High ranking member...”The greatest evil of all is when those who can stop a man or a nation from tumbling off a cliff step aside and let such a man or a nation fall!”

Yes, I figured you were making a point about where the certain folks were on that day and how they happened to not be there when it appeared that the Capitol and other installations might be under attack. The cell phone law issue confused me...were you referring to laws passed before or after the 9/11 attacks? Also I’m not sure if the cell phone rules are more FAA regs as opposed to direct congressional laws.
Immediately after, banning the use of cell phone on commercial airlines was darn near congress’ first order of business!

That’s what I thought but I remember there being issues with the cell spectrums that were in use at the time interfering with systems the airliners use. We are talking about 20 years ago and even “single g” was only a theoretical thing then.
I’m intrigued with your connection of cell phone bannings, 9/11, and congress doing nefarious things. Cell phones then and now remain only useful at altitudes for take offs and landings but may be sporadic at high altitudes. The flight 93 is interesting because they must have been at an altitude where cell phones remained useful and in contact with cell towers. The FCC bans in flight use oddly enough; the FAA leaves it up to the airlines as long as deemed safe. The FCC cites interference with cell towers and airliner avionics...not sure why. In 2014 the congress renewed the bans citing safety.
Most folks take their cell phones on board and have them in airplane mode; some may purchase expensive wifi time from the airlines.
You can bet though if trouble starts on board..out will come the cells.
