Conservatives need to become much more involved in the process from which we select our leaders. It is easy for us to blame the GOP at the national level. They do deserve a lot of scorn and contempt. However, ultimately, “we the people” have the ability at the party level to select people who will fight in the primaries.
Look at what AOC and her cohorts did in New York and elsewhere. They primaried the 4th most powerful democrat in the party who was supported by the DNC. The threat to primary others have dragged the reluctant democrat elite to their side in urban areas.
How/why could republican voters not do the same? I would argue there are way more of us than there are AOC supporters within their party!
We can bitch and gripe about the GOPe and Lord knows that I do often, early, and with passion. However, in the end we have to push our agenda within the GOP and punish those who do not fight on our behalf by removing them from the ballot.
Trump gets it. He just laid this out in his speech in DC. I hope and pray he spends the next two years paying back the feckless republicrats who have stabbed us (not just Trump) in the back. It’s time for a bloodletting.
