Dawn Wells, the real-life Mary Ann Summers of “Gilligan’s Island,” was just as sunny and down-to-earth off-screen as she was on-screen, her co-star Tina Louise, the show’s only surviving cast member, told The Post Wednesday.
Louise, who played the indelible flame-haired Ginger Grant on the CBS show, spoke fondly of Wells, who died at age 82 Wednesday in Los Angeles after battling COVID-19.
“I’m very sad,” said Louise, who infamously declined to appear in revivals and reboots or discuss the show over the decades since it ended in 1967.
“Dawn was a very wonderful person. I want people to remember her as someone who always had a smile on her face,” said Louise, who lives on Manhattan’s East Side. “Nothing is more important than family and she was family. She will always be remembered.”...

Our neighbor in California was her cousin and kinda looked like her.
She said she was just like Maryann in real life.
One of the things that writers of the show did was basically portray everyone as they actually were in real life...which made the acting very easy for them, and very fun at the same time. Tina was (maybe is) angry for being type-casted due to the show’s success, but that’s life. And I think Bob was the only one to think of capturing residuals as part of his contract...so he never had to worry about money again.

No, I think it was a “Behind the scenes” thing from about 2001. And it was only those two, cooing about how they got more fan mail than “Ginger” did and how sad it was that she was jealous... stupid stuff like that.
Honest question because I’m seeing things similar to your comment. HCQ by itself isn’t the covid help is it? I am under the impression the HCQ assists our cells take in the zinc and the zinc is what is so beneficial. Your thought?

Tina Louise had been getting regular movie work before being cast in “Gilligan’s Island.”
It has been reported by some sources that Tina Louise regretted accepting the role of Ginger Grant because she thought that it resulted in her being typecast and it cost her other acting jobs. With a few exceptions, her credits were limited to television guest spots and made for television movies after “Gilligan’s Island.”
We are looking at houses in Princeton WV where Bob Denver lived before his death in Winston-Salem NC. He had a radio program there
Aunt Bea settled in Siler City, NC and became a crazy cat lady. Reclusive but generous.
Bob Denver’s house in Princeton has not sold since he bought it so I guess his widow is still living there.
Bob had 3 ex-wives. He had to worry about money.
